Seems like Novak is trying to get the crowd to hate him even more. Tactical as he turns into beast mode when the crowd are against him. Would love to see him get a 25th. Although in the grand scale of things I can't see most of his records being broken.

Id agree . Hes made a bit of a tit of himself. That crowd arent worth it. I think its quite sad he still feels he needs the " love " of the crowd.  He shouldnt need it. **** em if they cant appreciate his greatness. However  i think he wears his heart on his sleeve a lot. God bless him really.

Also seems like something has been going on this year with Novak. Not just with his tennis. Sure he alluded to some things in an interview not long back. But an irritated and fired up Novak will be tough to beat. Even by the two new young studs Carlos & Jannik.

Hope Rybakina wins. She's my tennis crush now Kirilenko no longer plays. That slavic beauty is easy on the eye.

Shes a superb player. So natural on the court and has deceptive power and a fantastic serve. She is also quite stunning .  She looks very tall too. No checked her height but she must be 5 .10 or something.

When Carlito first caught my attention (US Open, 2021 - many people were fixating on something else happening at the time), I posted on here that he was the next real deal. At the time, there didn't seem to be anyone else threatening to challenge for the top spot and I may have ventured a guess that he would skoosh all the records.

However, we've now got Jannik Sinner, who I'm sure will push Alco in the same way that Nadal pushed Djoko. Ruud/Rune, Shelton, FA-A, Fils and (possibly) Draper will be keeping them honest as Murray, Stan and Delpo did for the previous "Big 3" - maybe even this big French lunk, Giovanni Petchey-Perricard will make them think twice. Plus, of course, Jake "The Jambo" Fearnley :D

With Meddlers, Fritz, Paul, Tsitsi and Zverev all with something to give, it should be a healthy 'out with the old - in with the new' over the next few seasons and Alco won't have it all his own way as I first thought.

Brilliant from Novak. Knows exactly what he's doing and will have more of an edge going forward. 🎾

What an arsepiece Djokovic is.  Got it wrong about supposed disrespect.  Had it explained to him.  Might have used it to fire himself up but carried on being a fud.  Kept on doubling down in various interviews.  Got quite arsey in one and stomped off.

It’s because in the wider scheme, he knows lots of people don’t like him and think he’s a dick. He finds the lack of popularity hard to take

He would be as popular as Federer if he behaved as gracefully as him.

He showed a great deal of grace and acted like a true sportsman after last year's final.  Him and his wife hung around and applauded Alcaraz as he went around with the trophy.  Once the contest is over,  congratulate and be happy for the winner.  That's a sure sign of a man comfortable in his own skin.

Gone back to being a tit.  It's up to him.

Looks like Sinner might not last the duration with illness.

Sinner looked terrible.  Maybe he might feel better just by being given the reassurance of having been seen by the doctor.

Re Novak . Like I said last night it was pretty dire. He clearly wants to be liked . Nowt wrong with that . Just don’t court it . It should come naturally . He’s tried too hard . He will end his tennis career as the Goat . Let Fedal win the beauty , instagram and social media popularity stakes . If I was him I’d know what is more important . I wonder if he does though ? A complex man and a modern day hero to many outwith his tennis achievements too .

We'll see if Djoko gets taken to task in the same way for one of his.

Two of the dullest quarter finals ever at Wimbledon. Commentator desperately trying to will Sinner to victory while commentator, possibly Castle, making other unwatchable.

Crowd asleep on both matches but not surprising as personalities non existent.

Hopefully Medvedev can win and Sinner, with his illness that appears only when he is losing, disappears from tournament.

Speaking of fashion...Emma looking well here, especially like that accessory she's holding.  Does Sun have similar?

He nailed it with his take on Novak and last night's events.

There's two possible true facts in the story:

One is that crowds, for some reason, enjoy a chant where they can make an "oooo" sound. They do it with Bruce Springsteen; they do it with Joe Root at the cricket and they do it with Rune/Ruud at the tennis. It sounds like a boo and I've had to explain to someone in a Springsteen gig that they're not booing Roy Bittan or Stevie van Zandt.

So, that was happening the other night for Rune.

The other is that Wimbledon crowds have always been cool towards Novak. The reasons for that are varied but largely that others (Murray, Federer and Nadal - and Fearnley :D ) have been their favourites but Djoko has been better than them.

However, the Wimbledon crowd has always shown this favouritism by cheering Djoko's oppo heartily and, at worst, cheering for mistakes Novak's coughed up to give points to the other guy. They've never booed him just for the fun of it. Whilst they are an odd crowd, they do show their appreciation for Djoko's achievements; often grudgingly but they do it nonetheless.

Djoko has either read the room wrong and conflated these two facts or he's playing a game, knowing that he can feed off a crowd's negativity to fuel his own game. That could come in handy today, when he's playing Katie Boulter's other boyfriend, and on Sunday if he's playing another crowd favourite, Alcaraz.

He's not going to back down, though; not unless he wins on Sunday, when he'll acknowledge the support and fairness of the crowd. It's not been his finest PR moment!
