Thats a shame. However she isnt the first player to sacrifice doubles for singles, she wont be the last.

Shame for Andy but its understandable.

Murray had his farewell. Do you really think he'd want to go through all that again? Any subsequent cheerio would have been a complete letdown and a distraction.

Raducanu has had 3 (?) operations on her wrist so they'll also want to be careful with that.

She is back enjoying her tennis, looking happy and getting fitter. Isn't that the most important thing?

A bit weird for grown men to constantly want to run her down given she achieved something that no other British female had done for over 40 years.

Good to see the strong contempt for Raducanu remains.

Norrie about to go 2 sets down. 😐

Rusedski tipped him to win in 5 sets which seemed a bit optimistic.

Some people watch tennis but dont really "get it" from what I've seen she is a very positive player that has total belief in herself. I expect her and Andreeva to win alot

Novak has done the same thing. Gamesmanship is part of sport

Dart has just been broken to go 5-6 down in the second set. She was up a break in it but was quickly broken back. She also missed a simple volley to give herself match point.

Shes really not that great. I honestly cant see it.

Well played Zverev. At least Norrie got to celebrate wildly winning a lot of points so maybe he won that. Þ

Norrie out. Played well but Zverev's serve was just too good.

Dart was a break up in the third set but now a break down.

Swiatek and Jabeur in trouble.

Jabeur is one of those completely unpredictable players . Looks like the shite Jabeur is playing the day . Very disappointing . I’m not much of a fan of Svitolva but she’s got a chance this year . I recall a few years ago she was the next best thing , but it didn’t seem to materialise .

She did the right thing. Her singles match is more important than Murray's tribute game. I feel a little sorry Murray is not getting his finale but at least we won't have to suffer the greeting.

Harriet Dart hasn't a hope in hell of being one of those surprises though, she just doesn't have the game, never mind that she's in the same half of the draw as Swiatek, Rybakina and Jabeur...she'll either lose today or be pumpded in next round by Ons (assuming she gets through)

Raducanu has an outside chance if everything falls her way, as her half of the draw is a little easier, although I don't see her winning it.

So much for that side of the draw, that's 2 out of those 3 gone. Not that Dart is, or was ever likely to be, around to take advantage.

They were also due on court 4th, which would probably have meant a late finish. Raducanu is playing tomorrow.

Murray can appear and demand a match any time he wants

A few popular players in there.

Wimbledon crowd and country will be rooting for Emma but now Ons is out I would like Collins or Ostapenko to make it.

Gauff is probably strongest remaining but not sure of her grass court game.

Basically I’ve no idea 🤷‍♂️

It’s a not too bad line up .Think Rybankina is probably the favourite . Ostspenko is a dark horse And Gauff could also be in final . Imo

Maybe less so, given the roasting she got off of Judy Murray after letting Andy down.

She owes nothing to anyone. Judy Murray should shut her mouth and support the next generation of tennis player. Everything is always about Andy Murray

Have to say that was a rare misstep from Judy.

It confirmed for me that there wasn't a quiet agreement between the Murray camp and Raducanu's to use Emma as the sacrificial lamb in order to get Murray out of the commitment.

She's not being given the best advice, is she? Possibly thought that playing with Andy would be god for her profile given that she was going to get pumpded oot in round 1. A plan that was scuppered when her original R1 oppo withdrew.

I don't blame her for concentrating on the singles and would have thought that Judy, of all people, would be sympathetic to a player who's making her way back from serious injury and operations. At first, I wondered whether Judy was being sarcastic about Marcus Buckland's tweet using the word "astonishing" but, rather than clarify that, she made her social media go quiet, suggesting that she knew she's made a boo-boo.

She’s subsequently posted a tweet saying something along the lines of “it appears not everyone understands sarcasm”

Doesn't quite tally with shutting down your social media but Marcus was the one who originally used the word "astonishing" which is not the word I'd have gone for. "Disappointing" or, even, "worrying", maybe.

Dreadful,  no answers to an in-form lefty at all.

Managed to get one of the breaks back so hopefully can start to get into the match.

Noticed her last couple of serves were to Sun's backhand, starting to ask the odd question.

Dearie me . The “ quality “ is so poor .

I note she does that annoyong fist pump when getting even the most mundane point . Very Carlos .

Watched the Keys/Paolini match earlier, which was pretty good until Keys got injured. Apparently Keys has the hardest forehand so far at this year's Wimbledon, both women and men.

Sun is going to walk this. I'm wondering what Emma's coach told her to do, because it isn't working.

The players started to pretty much an empty stadium because everyone had gone for a break after the Alcaraz match. By the time they start filtering back in, Raducanu is 3-0 down. I mean, she's the last British player left in the singles and obviously a home support always helps. Instead the organisers rush the players on and take away a main advantage.

Sun playing a bit too well at the moment though.

Sun is not bad actually . First time I’ve seen her play . Course she has that leftie serve . It’s often a wonder shot for so many of the greats.
