Its Ayr Utd if Kastaneer cant rock up and start the match I'd really start to worry.

It's a game of football against a well shoddy Ayr Utd. Probably be able to stick me on the wing and still win

More risk of injury if he hasn’t played much for a while.

I expect conditions will be a big factor in our team selection

I hope so. Training isn’t the same as a 90 minute competitive match. Anyway, I’ll be very surprised if he starts. 😄

I’ve not read anything about Kasteneer that would suggest he would shine on a horrible pitch in horrible weather in Ayr. I have very low expectations of him overall but hope to be pleasantly surprised in time - but not tomorrow. Rather we stuck with Euan Henderson until Kasteneer is more integrated into the squad and understands the Scottish game a bit more. I think McEnuff will hit the ground running though. Be happy to see him playing tomorrow.

I think if it's bad conditions especially they might go with him over Henderson.

He's 6ft and well built so should be able to power through the wind and sleet better

Henderson is still too weak in a way

Gnanduillet to start for me too as on that pitch in crap weather we will go long more than not so need him to hold it up

Lord Beni of Gorgie

Going to be a tough game. Cup tie for every team playing us, but I reckon the 4 goals in 20 minutes has left them feeling bad about it.

Tom Walsh is a pretty decent player for this level

I love some folks optimism.

The aerosol who did the deed is away now, and I do know some Ayr United supporters who were on our side.

Can honest(man)ly say, never met an Ayr United fan though I did know a jockey from Troon who had a trial for them.  True story

He has indeed. I’m sure his best is ahead of him though. Going to batter them in from now till end of the season

Think he will as well, especially if he has the big man to partner him up front when he is up to full fitness.

Think this is a stealth match.

2 banks of 4 and 2 up top. For all the moaning about Halliday and I often agree, this sort of shitfest is why he was signed.

Gnandos to start this time,  maybe get an hour out of him

Robbie saying in EEN today none of the new signings are far away from a start. The good news just keeps rolling in 👍

I can see a pitch inspection in the morning with the current weather

Just done a pitch inspection. My back green, about 800yards from Somerset park.

Fine, no standing water.

It’ll be this. 4-4-2. Gnando and Boyce up top and I suspect Walker on one side of the midfield.

Eh? You've lost me mate

My apologies BigO, I read your post as racist and I totally accept that that was not your intention. You spotted yourself how a 'monkey' reference can be construed. Hearts have a history of this and I well remember the bananas thrown on the pitch at Mark Walters. You clearly had no such intention mate. And, once again, please accept my sincere apologies. I can now wind my neck in and get back to your otherwise enjoyable posts!

You’ve picked 12 players mate, there’s only one Mackay-Steven in the squad.

Surely only 11 in that pick?

two wingers leaves the midfield wide open as our wingers don't tackle or even get involved if its not going forward

Don't worry about it in the slightest fella. Mix up.

The issue is that what you thought you read in my post exists. If you see it, you call it out. Quite right. And if you call it out and get it wrong, hardly a disaster imo.

Thanks for apology. Now let's just agree to be Hibsist!!

and why does Kasteneer not get a capital K?

‘Mckay-Stevens’ has two. Clearly a limit of 11 capital letters per side to save on pixels.

Reminds me of the old George Burley formation. Albeit with much lesser quality players.

I'd imagine that team will be bang on bar halliday starting in place of Mceneff. Bit more height and directness tomorrow might be the plan given the conditions.

Quite a few on here are anticipating a close run thing.  Maybe just sneak it by a goal.  Against Ayr United.

Is this that QAnon theory I've been hearing about.  Pretty far-fetched and scary all right.

I'm not ITK but I'll make prediction that Berra doesn't make the bench. With two more players coming in this week there will need to be a normal first steamer that misses out on the squad.

I don't see the value of having a defender on the bench when Haring can cover and is also a good option for midfield.
