Also got plenty of emergency cider as well, just in case. Super, Well done you. Along with many others.. I watched a little old lady searching for toilet roll and bread today. Had to put the basket back. Probably going to walk a couple of miles up the road to find another shop... what's the bets that's all sold out as well by folks stocking up... Hope she's alright... Jambo-Jimbo
Seen a report from Rome on sky news this morning, the reporter was standing in front of an empty St. Peter's Square, anyway she mentioned that even on day 6 of the lockdown people in Rome were not panic buying. My local Premier Store has now got a notice saying that people are only allowed one item of cleaning products, toiletries, pasta & rice. I think it's only a matter of time before the supermarkets will bring in similar measures, indeed I think some are starting to, because it's clear a lot of people are not acting responsibly so they'll have to be told they can't have 20 packets of pasta or 30 tins of beans, there is plenty of food and supplies for everybody, if some people stopped acting like selfish dicks, there'd be plenty for everyone. Marvin
I bought a 20 pk of super soft tissues from Sainsbury for a small outlay of £2.00 odd, now selling on ebay a £5.00 a pop. If anyone wants one at a special JKB (paid members) price of £2.50 pm me. I've never known panic like this. The fact that shop customers are fighting over the last pack of bog roll on the shelf is quite entertaining. Makes up for missing the Hearts game. Supermarkets are making a killing off this, too. I’d imagine Amazon profits are through the roof, too. Folk staying home, bored, will shop as a form of entertainment. Whatever happened to ‘keep calm and carry on’? I’m not sure they are making a killing. Maybe initially. They have to employ more staff to cope and it’s only certain lines that run out which then take time to restock. I would imagine they would prefer it to be as it was. Again amazon has sold out of the main lines and will struggle to restock - believe me I sell on Amazon, they are slow at this. You are right about keeping calm and carrying on - where’s the stoicism gone?
