Money isn't an issue for us, but if it were, playing one of them in the final is the best financial option

Nice to know money isn't an issue though I thought it was pretty much an issue for everybody.

Aye, 1978, Eammon Bannon header and all was good with the world.

This. 😅

Good memories of up there. The seven nil win and the one nil with Bannon scoring.

Hope it's Falkirk and we pump them.

1. I'm still bitter about that Brockville cup game.

2. My experience is that they are up there as the whiniest fans in Scottish football.

Hoping Arbroath win their replay, from a purely selfish point of view, I'm looking forward to having a bevvie in the house and then a quick half hour trip on the train.

Surely they should go the whole hog and get O'Connor and Riordan on then.

Speaking of which there is genuinely a night at The Hibs Club with club legends Gaz and Deeks coming up.

Can you imagine the ned drivel they will spout to their adoring tramp fans?

Where can I get a ticket?

Yup....they used to have a man in dinghy to retrieve balls hoofed over the East Terracing. One Game almost abandoned in the 70's, as a sea fog rolled in. I remember standing behind the goals, seeing Donald Park emerging through the fog to score the goal to tie up the win.

A tip of the hat for football-sea based knowledge. Closest ground to the briny in Europe, according to Wikipedia.

Scottish Cup fifth round draw (weekend of Sat 8 Feb):

Inverness v Livingston

Clyde v Celtic

BSC Glasgow v Dundee Utd/Hibs

St Mirren v Motherwell

Ayr Utd v St Johnstone

Aberdeen v Killie

Hamilton Accies v Rangers

Arbroath/Falkirk v Hearts

Odd with the exception of Aberdeen all other favourites to win will be away. I predict 2 or 3 shocks in there

If the lad that was cold at the game yesterday thought it was cold then, wait until you go to gayfield in February if we finish up there.🤭🤭

And I'm sure a few games have been abandoned because it was so windy the bloody ball wouldn't stay still for goal kicks etc

Did the Elizabeth Dane appear with captain Blake? 😂

Perfect draw for me and my brother, we celebrated that Rangers ball like a goal. Then we wanted it to be away and it was :yas:

Arbroath cause its only along the road, and Falkirk cause we have never been.

Either or is good but would prefer Falkirk.

I was just thinking that - especially after looking at that photo.

Is it 4 tv games again this round?

If so, guessing both the OF games, Aberdeen v Killie and BSC v whoever....leaving us for the Saturday.

Looking ahead it's a disappointing draw. If the higher ranked teams win their ties, then there will be no teams from outside the premiership in the quarter finals.

Yeah, in Roy Keane's book, he spoke about getting on the coach after the loss where big John Harston cracked open a can of Coke and was munching a big bag of crisps. "Welcome to paradise" was the quote he put to it! 😄

TBF, if this lot turned up demanding a game, I'd let them win.

Ha ! was just chatting about those two games. Alec Edwards playing for Arbroath  in the 7 -0 game. And the Eamonn Bannon ( with hair version ) when we won promotion and the conga round the car park. Good times ! Hope Arbroath can win through v Falkirk - tuff tho tbh.

I agree.  Takes away the romance element.

Yeah. Ayr or Caley best hope,  or United!

Only 1 of the top 6 going out possibly

And I suppose if 6 must die, it could be a cost effective way of getting some of the deadwood off the books.
