Don't worry, they were Clydebank back then.

The irony of saying "don't worry they were Clydebank" as if that was really much better for us

I mind sitting in the old stand when we played them - 2 old boys wearing club blazers pulled their hankerchiefs out their top pockets and both started waving them about. Then came the war cry.... ''Get out your hankies, here come the Bankies!''    PMSL

With tickets as cheap as chips I’d of thought we’d of sold much more.

How many have we sold?

I know we always say the next game is vital but a defeat against Airdrie would be catastrophic imo and a draw almost as bad.

We must win and win well.

If it’s the one near the left I thinks it’s Cochran’s. The one next to Naismith is Walker, I think

Pretty sure you're correct.

Not sure but too many empty seats though when you look at the e-tickets site.

Bought 2 in section D.

Had a massive choice of seats in D, the best view in Wheatfield.

£12 & £7, come on guys, get buying.

A couple of new signings will hopefully make sales pick up.

Tenaciousdandy

Off that weekend, so might take the wee one along if still plenty tickets left on Friday, £19 for 2 tickets in the main stand is decent, first and last game she was at was the st Mirren game, so might even be a lucky supporter lol

Give it a couple of days then time to bang the drum

Worst case scenario is we will have almost all our injured players back for this one and that in itself is great news

If we have a signing or two then all the better

My only memories of going there was running out of pies, having four Mars bars instead 🤢🤮 and screaming at Davie Cooper when he took a corner. I think we won but I really can’t be sure.

Not many teams will get close to half filling their stadiums

One of the big moans (me in particular) is the ticket prices.

We get them offered at a really low cost, so I would be disappointed if we don't get closer to 15k.

Airdrie are showing recovery signs this year and should bring a decent crowd.

I think that is how the vast majority of Hearts supporters will be feeling.  The team and bench will be really interesting too and I would bet heavily that Stendel and his staff will have them jumping out of their skins to get on the park.

I'm sure it would be a huge encouragement to the staff and players if around 15,000 turned out but I acknowledge that history is against this.

Hopefully with having no football for a few weeks will have folk chapping at the bit, not to mention possible new signings on show.

I expect to hear that these tickets are flying out the door over the next few days.  This really is the start of the new dawn after the nightmare and I would love to think they will get a rousing reception from a big crowd.

If it's accurate that least 1,400 are coming from Airdrie, surely we can make the effort.

It will not be a Levein performance.  We can be certain of that.

Got our tickets today.

It always nips my nut the booking fee.

Especially when buying a few at once but still individual fees for each ticket.

Airdrie turned us over at Tynecastle in another cup match after the semi finals.   1-3.

We got turned over2-1 at old broomfield in scottish cup aswell early 90,s they were league below us alex Mcdonald was in charge of them it was a bit nasty inside next to their support coins and so getting thrown and wild going back to train station too

Airdrie barely took 1400 to the cup semis so where the hell they're finding that many now is anyone's guess. And Clydebank had even fewer fans! 🤣

It was me Doug, Airdrie workmate told me and I believe him.

1400 sold

It's a big game for them and Tynecastle is a big draw for away support.

Broxburn have sold similar for their tie at St Mirren.

I was there.  We walked into a running battle as we came out the club we were having our pre game bevvy in.

Gary Mackay scored the opener if I remember correctly?

The Treasurer

The 1400 figure may be accurate given the fact that prick Murray is the Airdrie manager so there could be a few "Airdrie" fans coming from Leith

They had 4,000 at Hampden in 1995. 7,000 at the Final.

Won't be a big crowd new dawn makes no odds fans are fickle with extra cup ties plus 1st game back after break, so normal routine is burst anyway am 50/50.

Theres been a few times recently theyve done Family Kids Club thing. Sounds not bad and my wee man would pribably love it but they always announce it too late, after the tickets have been on sale.

We've already got good seats for us both in the centre of the Wheatfield so we'd be essentially be paying another 15 sheets for 2 crappy seats in the Gorgie stand that we'd never use.

The family package is crap, doesn’t make any sense.  The tickets for the game are £12 for adults and £3 for U13s.  The family package is £30/£20.  Given that the family package is most appealing to kids under 13, it’s essentially costing the kids £17 to get their face painted, get a wee bowl of spag bol and have some diluted juice.  Very poor value imo, should have been £20/£10 for the package as mentioned earlier on the thread. Also feel that it devalues the match ticket as well having such a big pricing discrepancy.

This.  When the 86 chat comes around it always makes me think about the last home game when Clydebank stuck in, frustrated us and kept it to 1-0.  Couple more goals that day and the league was effectively won.  Dens would have become more of a formality.

A draw and a defeat at Kilbowie that season too, whilst of course Celtic took all 8 points. Bankies were my Grandas team as well

Yip, in both guises as well.

Airdrie smacked us about a few times in the league as well in the 90's.

if we had beaten them instead of a draw at Tynecastle... we would have won the league.

Yip, confident we would score 3 or 4 that day and it would have been job done
