Deid Heid
On a more serious note, how come Scottish players go on holiday for about three weeks and when they come back (with the exception og the uglies), appear to have forgotten how to play football? Outside of the biggest clubs in most leagues, clubs appoint a good manager who has a relative amount of success every now and again. After a period of time, that manager tends to take that team as far as he can, and then he is replaced. The next man coming in is a roll of the dice and you just don’t know until he’s had a chance to get going. It’s a pretty shit system to be honest, and I’d like to see is break the wheel and find a system that maintains lasting relative success. Exactly what we are trying to do with Director of football, promote within, good academy etc.

True to an extent but as soon as Killie appointed this guy who has no management experience as far as I know the usual suspects were using as a tool to attack the club. I have no idea if he will be a success but we made a high risk appointment less than 3 years ago that turned out to be a disaster. I don't think we can afford another right now. I wouldn’t be judging Alessio on one result but it’s a shocker of a start and it puts him under pressure. Hopefully they have a difficult season. Also being pragmatic we’re a lot closer to hibs, Aberdeen and Kilmarnock than we are to Celtic and Rangers so I would always rather these clubs lose against them. RobNox
Killie were relegation fodder for years before Clarke arrived and managed to turn them into European qualifiers. Clarke has gone, Killie will be back in the bottom 6 battling to survive. Unfortunately, the expectations of the fans has risen so battling it out in the bottom 6 will no longer be deemed acceptable. They'll turn against manager after manager who can't get them back into Europe before eventually they realise that Clarke was an exception. A bit like Aberdeen fans for 20 years or so after Fergie left, still expecting to be challenging for titles.

OTT
Really do think we need to move towards individual coefficients for clubs. Also, what can we do as a league to better support our clubs in getting to europe moving forward? Its literally every season some club is utterly humiliating themselves and the league - us getting put out off Maltese fisherman, Killie getting put out off a welsh team no ones heard of from a league we didn't even think they had.. They're awful results which makes our league look horrific.

Levein has certainly prioritised changes to the Academy, aided by investment from AB, but it's a nonsense to suggest he has rebuilt the club. He has been DOF for 5 years and, after a great first season under Neilson, we have regressed. Rangers and then Hibs came up and each of them immediately pushed us back a place. Killie did the same for 2 consecutive years under Clarke, and Heckingfeckinbottom was 10 points behind us last season , when he took over and did the same. Unpalatable as it may be, those are facts. Levein is very much on trial this season and if he fails to deliver, he will be forced out by the fans.

Gavman81
If five years Levein has overseen a record promotion winning campaign from the toughest championship ever, euro quaiification and got us to a cup final. Despite how poor it’s been since Cathro and it’s just since Cathro now, let’s not ignore progress right up until Robbie left, overall, that’s not a bad tenure albeit with marked room for improvement and he does need to hit ground running this year.
