Naismith - aims for return against Rangers ( updated )

I think you can already predict where this is going.

The final was his target. Can he make It?

We've made it to the final but that was Inverness.

We now have to get past either celtic or Aberdeen. Neither of which is an inviting prospect.

That all changes if Naismith is fit. If he is able to take to the field fit to play we have more than a chance of lifting the trophy.

Agree. But is there also the time for him to get match fitness prior?

Even at that I’d still have him in there. We need winners and people who spit, snarl and want to lead by example. Esp in a final.

Wee update from the club on his recovery process would go down a treat.

A handsome chap in my mirror told me that he would be 100% and score twice.

Can't vouch for it though as he"s a bit of a fantasist but other than that he's a tremendous bloke who hates Hibs.

We have beaten Celtic, Dons (twice).

I think Aberdeen can do it tomorrow.

Lennon has horrendous Hampden history.

Believe.

Unless something happens between now and the final then he will be fit. He should be back for the Killie game in a few weeks.

Agreed, sounds pretty sound if you ask me.

Just hoping he doesn’t know that old bloke from New Zealand.

Hahaha." A handsome chap in my mirror". I like that line Doug. I will use that myself,  copyright rules permitting of course.

If he does he will have forgotten anyway.  Shocking memory.  Real ladies man though, particularly when he's got his teeth in.

Got his teeth into what?

Is this connected to the ‘ladies man’ comment?

Disclaimer Enzo.

You have to be ‘handsome’ in the first place to use this phrase.  ?

There will be an update on his fitness when we announce his contract.

That's a really good point.  He's clearly a big time player and Hearts showing that they will be at the big dance could influence his decision.

I still think a player/manager role could be dangling in front of him

I’ve said before.. the family are set on settling back in Scotland. I believe the player / something else role would be  an offer that must be on the table in the best interest of both parties

Lord Beni of Gorgie

We are in a final 6 years from near death.

Nothing matters.

Nice one Hearts for standing up and doing a professional job

If he’s fit and we play Aberdeen in the final we should hopefully win it. They had absolutely no idea how to handle him in the game at Tynie in October.

Great incentive now for him to step his recovery up a notch or two and get himself fit for the final. Would be a massive boost to have him back for it.

Due back start of may. New contract will be signed and hell score a 90th minute winner to best Celtic and end the treble treble. Watch this space

Morning Jambos.  Enjoy your Sunday.  I'm just about to savor a roast and have a warm glow.

This achievement plus news that SN is signing should create a surge in ST sales and a boost for FoH as well.

Do the right thing Steven..  Sign up for a great club.

I'd actually love it to be Berra. He's a dyed in the wool Jambo and a great servant to the club.

As for Naismith, it would be a huge boost to get him back by the final but I don't think we can count on it.

In the same context, the only time he played 90 minutes against Celtic this season. We beat them.

Does anyone think they might be holding off on the naismith contract announcement until just before the final to boost everyone before the game? Just a thought.

I think they are holding off to make sure his legs are worth the wages.

If he's signing a contract for the next year or 2 we need him fit for a full campaign.

I think next week we'll see new contracts.

We kept things on hold this week to concentrate on the semi final, which is fair enough.

Not ITK ofcourse

Steven Naismith limping off at Murrayfield against Celtic was the moment the last wheel came off our season.

I look forward to seeing him emerge from the tunnel with his shoulders back and his chest puffed out at Hampden on the 25th putting in an inspired, leading performance where he and the rest of the team leave after 90 minutes to pick up the Scottish Cup. Finally delivering on a season that looked like it promised everything and then felt like it had produced nothing.

Then ultimate scenes as he announces the signing of a pre contract in proper Wolf of Wall Street fashion on the Hampden turf

Could'nt agree with your first sentence more.  My heart absolutely sank along with thousands of others.

What a comeback to score a couple and smile at Petrie when its turn to lift the trophy.

End the season the way we started it.
