Charlie Adam just put up an Instagram story of him driving saying “snowing in Scotland”

He was also the first person to reply to the STV tweet with Levein slating Michael Stewart with ? and ? emojis - so he is defo a fan of Levein or hates Stewart or both.

I actually thought Ainsworth was pretty decent at Motherwell, I would say no danger we're in for him but nothing, especially at hearts surprises me.

I think he is way overrated. Always have

He's inconsistent

Lord Beni of Gorgie

After the excitement of August, this has been the quietest window since the SPFL/SFA decided signing players wasn't for Hearts any longer

Turnbull and Kerr have both signed new contracts with Motherwell and St Johnstone.

Hopefully we can follow suit and get Souttar tied down to a long term deal.

Levein has said a few times in the last few weeks there wouldn’t be any more signings and especially as we were going to be getting our injured players back. The only thing that I would think may happen tomorrow is maybe Martin going on loan again and maybe a couple of other youngsters leaving.

Demi has been nowhere near the Demi of last year so if we can replace him I'm not fussed

Speaking as a fan of the boy, sadly concur.

Fulham or Cardiffs scouting system must be Donald Ducked all the same

Exactly.

This extract from the article confirms that.

Fulham and Cardiff have monitored Mitchell’s progress at Hearts this season and see him as a potential star in the making who would boost their defensive options.

Constructive Central Midfielder would be nice.

Some folk don’t listen though. Last year at the same time he was saying for months beforehand he was looking for players, if he said that then why lie this year?

We went over budget to sign Clare and saving money on Amankwaa and possibly Mitchell will see us hopefully break even.

Do you have our budget figures to hand?

More than break even. Sizeable profit this year even with overspend on stand. According to the chief at agm

I meant on the playing budget, as we are not signing anyone else.

The point is he’s never hidden his desire to sign players, he usually states what position he wants to strengthen. He’s come out and said were done, no more signings. Let’s review that in about 30 hours time.

You may eventually be right but that does not mean we've not tried (and failed) to get someone in or at least made inquiries.  However, if you know (as opposed to guess) that our playing budget has been used up then I suppose that is the end of the matter.

Never Let Them Forget

Wouldn’t mind trying to get Johnny Hayes in. Surely the mhanks wouldn’t be hard to deal with this late in the window.

As I said on another thread I was told by someone who knows that we weren’t looking at anyone apart from young players that are being released, Levein then said the same, does he not know that we aren’t after anyone?

Apparently they want some of the £1m back and it’s unlikely we would buy  someone his age. Would they loan us anyone? Bit injury prone too. Probably go on loan to Aberdeen or Hibs on the summer if their new manager begs forgiveness for the McGinn deal.

El Diez called Vanecek and Haring in the summer before anyone else IIRC.

I'm not dismissing his Ainsworth shout on that basis. More ITK credentials than some others whose every word some seem to hang onto anyway.

It would definitely be a strange signing. He looked very good in his first season at Motherwell but didn't reach anywhere the same heights after that. That was five years ago now.

If he's not good enough to sit on the bench at Plymouth he's not going to improve us.

Was on trial at Livingston a few weeks ago, deemed not good enough for them. No thanks.
