Not convinced that there was a problem with management here or that there is any evidence that things were made worse.
Jammy T
People going on about our medical team over the last 13 years or so - for 8 or 9 of these years we had a complete ***** of a man overseeing the medical side of things and basically treating players like shite and that includes Kyle. So if it wasn’t made any worse why isn’t he playing in the next few important games before his operation? Because playing could make it worse. It’s good to know the physio spotted it though, at least someone at the club did.

Which injuries are you talking about? Before these two the main long term injuries in the Souttar/Uche category have almost all come from incidents during games (like Souttar and Uche) with the player not playing again - Brandon, Berra, Paterson, Mitchell, Souttar, Djoum, Godhino. How were these injuries misdiagnosed or not treated properly? Uche seems to be the only one who played on with it, machine that he is! We have been really unlucky with injuries. That could be down to any number of things - playing higher tempo, the pitch (our old pitch for example) - or it really could be down to bad luck and having very competitive players in our squad who push themselves for the team. Berra, Uche and Paterson's injuries fall into that category for me. Edited October 19, 2018 by Guest

Apart from McLaughlin every player (over 40) that played for the first team missed games, the average is 70% in a season. Smith-Brown and Mitchell both had to go back to Manchester to get a proper diagnosis, CL played Mitchell whilst he was injured 3/4 times and he eventually walked off the pitch frustrated and injured after 83 minutes of a game leaving us with 10 men. CL declared him fit for the Saturday, he was taken back to United and operated on within days. CL was either misinformed or ignored the medical department. Back to Uche you proved my point that he shouldn’t have been training and playing games until the injury was diagnosed, he may well have made the injury worse. I have on occasion wondered over the years about some cases but the one that you keep coming back to is not one that I would feel is an obvious example of mismanagement. I had read your earlier posts by the way and your quoted position of knowledge or family with knowledge. Even with medical qualification without full knowledge of an individual case it can be dodgy to leap to conclusions but I can't see the Uche position the way you do. Anyway I am glad that the club have sought the level of UK expertise that they have with him.

So you don't want players to miss games but you don't want them to play in case they get more injured? Not sure it's possible to do both. Other clubs play injured players all the time with pain injections, it's very common in football. For all we know 70% of our players missed games because we were being over-cautious with their injuries. Them missing a game might actually have prevented a longer-term injury? Point is, who knows but you're jumping to conclusions in everything you've posted on here. Edited October 19, 2018 by Guest

No I want the players when they’re injured to be properly diagnosed ASAP and I don’t think the people we pay to do that job are up to it. I would rather we didn’t risk players when we don’t know what’s wrong with them, if it’s peoperly diagnosed and the risk is minimal of course players do play with niggles etc. Uche had a fracture in his foot, I don’t think it’s right he trained and played with that, do you? Well, we didn't know he had a fracture in his foot so there we go round in circles again. I'm sure Hearts will be on the blower any day to get the benefit of your medical expertise. In the real world, players get injured and not all injuries are obvious. I remember Fabregas playing for Arsenal in Europe with a broken leg from the previous game or something and he scored! I'm pretty sure Arsenal's medical team will be better financed than ours.

The guys a quack, says there was nothing wrong my sister and three weeks later she was getting back surgery. I said it to his face when I saw him in public.
