The neverending saga of Jamie Walker / no deal, he stays at Hearts (updated)

Recommended Posts

Escobar PHM

I can't remember his stipulating that he only wanted to go to one club, nor can I recall any of his relatives going on line and spreading absolute nonsense about the club.

I don't remember Jamie Walker saying ANYTHING publicly. As for his extended family, I imagine they are in a select little group that actually knows what was going ion behind the scenes. Fair enough they shouldn't have commented publicly but then neither should Levein have commented publicly in the way he did.

Post it as many times as you like. It won't make it him.

Oh, and check the hair.

Are there seriously people that still don't believe that's Jamie.

It's as clear as day.

Ran himself into the ground today. No complaints from me selecting him if he gives us that every week

Far better from him today. Looked as if he actually enjoyed playing today.

I have doubts it is Walker. Would need him to confirm it to fully convince me.

If you are looking at it from the club's point of view Hearts think a switched on Walker is worth ?1m and won't be dicked around by a shower of charlatans who want to rip the piss out of us. That's what I understand

They also expect Walker to behave like a professional and give 100%. That's the risky part

Decent start

Jamie was excellent today. Pressing, tackling, passing, creating chances - all good. Wise decision to take him off after his booking. It was probably the plan anyway but he was getting really stuck in and it would have been a disaster if he'd been sent off.

His recent form is unlikely to attract any new interest other than Sevco. Unfortunately think we’ll be stuck with him sulking until the summer.

Attitude and behaviour aside, we need a better player than him in his position. We can’t keep going in to important games with Jamie as the guy we all look to create something for us, he’s let us down too many times. If he stays, then it’s as a player who can maybe come off the bench when we are winning. Even then I’m not exactly brimming with faith.

Looks like he's already made his mind up. We should be moving on from him (as we should have moved on from him in the summer).

I’ve defended him on here throughout this and said numerous times that he is one of our best players. I have however decided that he isn’t interested in performing for us anymore. Total waste of a jersey. I wouldn’t even include in the match day squads anymore. His heads gone completely. Shame because he is genuinely the best player at our club in his day.

He's playing absolute shite, just like every other player in the team, if he goes and plays under a competent manager in a better environment then he'll get back to being a good player and a match winner.

He's hardly a waste of a jersey!!! That article does not really convey any information other than the fact that he is free to sign a pre-contract in January. It doesn't quote the playet as saying he wants to leave nor does Levein suggest he will. He returned on Saturday after an injury so was never going to be 100% and even when he is fully fit he is in a relatively poor team where, probably, too much is expected of him. Yes he has underperformed at times but he is still one of our best players. The criticism he gets is ridiculous.

God just get rid already. Stop going to the press hoping he stays, just feeds his ego.

If any other player had played as **** as him for the last 18 months he’d have been hounded out long ago.

(His pals/family members will be along to slaughter me in a minute).

Berra is a much better player than Walker. On his day Lafferty is too and I wouldn't be surprised if Milinkovic goes on to have a better career too.

We need to move on from Jamie, you're right, part of that is to stop over hyping him as something he's not.

Do you think too much is expected of him? He’s a twenty four year old man who’s been at the club since he was a child, who is our first pick attacking midfield player. He either needs to fulfil that role in the team like his counterparts at other clubs do, accept that he’s not good enough to fulfil that role and let another player do it, or move on to another club where his performances will be appreciated.

The end result of all of this, is we keep going in to big games with this guy as our supposed best player, and he disappears every single time. If we go in to these next two derbies looking to him to provide something, we will have the same result as the last five times.

This is where I am on the subject.  Far too often he has been a waste of space when we have looked to him for inspiration

Best all round if he moves on imo. Never a Rangers player in a million years

Not often we agree on something. Even putting aside questions over attitude or loyalty or whatever else. He is supposed to be our attacking midfield player, first choice player who we look to to create opportunities and to win his battles to earn the right to play. He doesn’t do that and we can’t afford to keep on going in to important games waiting for him to do so. We need a better player in his shirt. We keep getting overrun in midfield in important matches, that tells me we need better players in there. Players who don’t come with a caveat like JW.

That EEN website is unreadable. The most user-unfriendly site I've ever come across. Full of adverts and the page jumps about all over the shop, piss poor.

Wish folk would just post the articles on here instead of their links.

But when it comes to JW - I'd be delighted if we can offload him in Jan. He's been a passenger for a long time now and any cash in Jan is better than no cash in the summer. Take £200k and be done with it.

I’d be happy enough just getting him off the wage bill and using it to pay someone who might actually influence a game in our favour.

it kinda sums up the hearts support at these days, a laddie who has said nothing but a few rumours circulate and everyone turns  on him, a "hearts player" the very people were supposed to support.

drown the ****er, if he doesn't drown he's a traitor and we will burn him at the stake.

Him leaving will have about the same impact as Angus beith leaving.  He's an imposter and has gone backwards over the past year, add to that his 90 year old knees I'll be surprised if anyone is in for him in January.

Jamie has the ability, I would keep him provided he wanted to stay and sign a contract (not to make him the highest payed malarkey), but i'm in the camp of not bothered whether he goes in January or not.

Been given a lot of slack by the fans at matches and I’m not quite sure I understand why.

Chants of ‘one Jamie Walker’ for example.

Really?

Clearly doesn’t want to be at the club and his performances this season have reflected that.

Hope he leaves in January asap as seeing him disappear in yet another Scottish cup Edinburgh Derby isn’t for me. As culpable as anyone over the last few seasons embarrassments yet seems happy to fling mud at others who apparently ‘don’t get the importance’.

Fraud.

Absolute garbage. Berra, Brandon, skinny, Cowie all busting a gut for the team and manager. Not just these but first 4 I thought of. Walker is finished at Hearts and we should let him go in January

Because he is not doing his job properly and it frustrates the absolute hell out of me. He has been given a lot more chances than other players, and yet we still haven’t replaced him with someone who can actually do his job. He wouldn’t be getting slagged by anyone if he was actually pulling his weight.

Everyone else’s fault but Jamie’s yet again... Robbie... Levein... Cathro... the other players around him... the supporters... Sevco... Caixinha... **** me, he’s had rotten luck hasn’t he.

At no point did I say he was a traitor. Just don’t think Hearts should keep holding him in such high regard. If he was foreign or signed by Cathro, folk would be calling him a wage thief, bad recruitment and all sorts.

Jamie Walker hasn't done much wrong this season. Has put in better performances than many and worst performances than a couple. Injured against Rangers at Murrayfield and making his way back from that. He currently wears a Hearts jersey and gets my support. The day he stops wearing a Hearts jersey is the day my support stops.

He had a go at some of the January signings with regards our performance v them in the cup/replay in the build up to the derby at Easter Rd last month.

‘’but the games at Easter Road haven’t been good enough. The one last season was really tough because we had too many players who didn’t seem to understand what was needed. I felt like some people were looking to me to lead the team that night but you need everyone to be together in a derby. We just got overrun that night.’’

https://www.google.co.uk/amp/www.edinburghnews.scotsman.com/sport/football/hearts/jamie-walker-hearts-better-equipped-to-deal-with-derby-1-4593627/amp

Irony being he was completely anonymous in both ties 2016, both ties 2017 and indeed the game last month.

The team needs to pick up form, that is pretty obvious.  Looked like we'd turned some kind of corner after the Aberdeen and Hamilton matches, but we've gone backwards of late.

I'd keep Jamie.  With a team that is doing better, he'll get through defenses that are sitting back.  Hopefully we'll get back to the stage where breaking teams down like that becomes an issue.

Have you applied this wearing the jersey ethos to all Hearts players who have been as poor as Jamie?
