Im sure those at hamilton will be off to the sale, just what they need ( a grass pitch, undersoil heating etc)

What amazes me is that all this groundkeeping equipment they werent using wasnt flogged earlier before the club went bust

They where groundsharing for the forseeable future and had no need for it at all..

In fact im surprised they never punted the ground a lot sooner and tried to go forward groundsharing for a while

Whoever was in charge clearly didn't try too hard to stop them going to the wall..................

I would disagree with you labelling him a disgrace. The man lived the dream and gave the Gretna fans one hell of a rollercoaster ride. They got title wins and a Scottish Cup run Hibs would've been proud of.

The man sponsors 100's of small clubs/teams in the surrounding areas where he lives. He is heavily involved in youth and amateur football and has never given Hearts supporters anything but respect and kind words.

The man may have turned his back on Gretna after losing millions of pounds but whether for financial prudence or health the man has to be admired for giving Gretna their moment in the sunshine.

Gretna were never realistically going to survive when they only had 1000 fans who would travel and a team put together on a shoestring.

A real shame that Gretna have gone out of business but I'll always fondly remember them for contributing to one of my best moments as a Hearts fan.

Lay off the excentric Brookes. He has always been a decent bloke when I've met him. At the shareholders meeting and before the cup final. The most important thing is he respects Hearts and has never said anything bad about us despite the press trying their best to get him to.

At last, someone who appreciates the great success that Miles and Gretna actually achieved.

We can all learn from the rise of Gretna, any club, given the right formula, manager, financial structure and progressive attitude can succeed.

Gretna achieved what no other Scottish club is brave enough to do. They went for success.

They held on to every one of their assets, they sourced the right type of managerial staff and players; they developed their younger talent and stayed focused on winning.

Something, in fact all of which, Hearts have been guilty of neglecting in the past 24 months.

Success is just around the corner for any club who refuses to be bullied by the big two!

Don?t waste the lessons learned here by offering negative shallow comments, all that was wrong with Gretna was location, location, location.

Translates as they spent many times what anyone else in their division could afford to get to the SPL.

Turns out they couldn't either.
