Let's just read that again.

Wouldn't be an issue down Easter Road.

I have seen the displays at both Easter Road and Tynecastle and they are both impressive.

Dispicable ******** that do things like this.

Thing is what are they going to do with them?

The obvious answer is sell them but to whom?

Of most interest to Hearts fans but most of us would either just smack the **** and take them off him and return them to Tynie or report them to the police.

Even if a Hearts fan wanted them he can hardly display them in his house and show them to his mates.

Did this happen during one of the stadium tours?

Calling them pond scum is unfair to pond scum.

Tragically melt them down for the gold value.

I sincerely hope it doesnt come to that.

Hadn't thought of that to be honest, I now feel sick.

Hopefully they will be recovered undamaged.

Yeah maybe not the greatest comment on my part. Hadn't properly read the article and didn't realise a war medal had been stolen. Hope they are returned to the club soon.

Well worth repeating that t.o.m. as it's a priceless piece of history.

Whoever you are please just hand it in somewhere, else I will pay you for it so it goes back to where it came from.

Where about are the medals kept that someone could walk in unchallenged and take them?

Presumably in a display cabinet so they can be seen during the stadium tour.

Hope he's a local scum bag, at least then there's a chance of recovering them. Hope its not some scaffy vagrant from another part of the country.

I take it this is being circulated round the EEN, Scotsman,Twitter, Facebook etc? Someone will know the prick.

Yes it is locked and I thought it was alarmed too. We've got a committee meeting on Tuesday I'll know more then.

I'd have thought a glass cabinet, with rather lower security levels than the crown jewels. Anyway, anyone have a clue what they'd be worth melted down (s someone suggested might be their fate)? I wouldn't have thought the gold or other metal content in these would be worth much at all.

The fact it was forced open would suggest it was.

Maybe getting a bit ahead here but hopefully who ever is in charge of security can be held liable(if not Hearts themselves).

Forget liability, this is sacrosanct.
