I’m running Scottish half marathon tomorrow, which is my first official run. Up until June this year the furthest I’d ever ran was a 5k but decided to try push myself and have made it up to 10 miles. On Easter Monday I lost my dad to suicide aged 57, it was completely out of the blue and an incredible shock. He was an army veteran, ex prison guard and overall the last person you’d expect. So I am fundraising for Health in mind Scotland, I don’t mean to get the begging bowl out but with mental health the smallest thing can make a difference, who knows it can save someone’s life. I know it’s a hard time so I’m not expecting donations from anyone but if anyone wants to help a fellow jambo out you can do so at the link. With things like this though just spreading the word is powerful. Depression is real, mental health is important and suicide does happen ( far too frequently) Thank you 🇱🇻 https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/Stephen-Mallin1?utm_campaign=lc_frp_share_transaction_fundraiser_page_donation_received_-_nth_donation&utm_content=c23d3d94-07ee-4fd4-8dcd-13201b20d284&utm_medium=email&utm_source=postoffice&utm_term=1695499314172 All the best, AC. Keeping busy in the garden, walking is also good,he just does things to keep his mind occupied, along with medication. When he gets low I don't see him for weeks. He has a habit though, for years, takes up a hobby with vigour then loses interest quickly. For all his faults though, he's my brother and I am here for him 👍🏻 he's not been as bad this year because his son has moved back in . I don't think so mate. I'm not sure you'll find a very well described example online, it's often very clinical which can't come close to expressing what lived experience is like. That was why I was keen to hear from people with personal experience. I know it's not at all what you were getting at but unless you've lived it, it might be the equivalent to thinking everyone gets a little sad when reading about depression. I wasnt trying to minimise its impact on people but I was trying to illustrate that we all can have moods which change daily but I guess with the condition your describe its for longer periods of time. My poor friend used to be a nurse and his mental health deteriorated drastically after his wife died. She was only in her 20s. He hasnt really recovered. He has been sectioned a few times. I think if someone is exhibiting horrible views and opinions or even behaviours , be they racist , sectarian homophobic or Neo Nazi for example , then losing the rag and pointing out that they are behaving in such a manner is understandable and forgivable . But the personal abuse of Savage and Budge and lately Levein is way beyond the pale

I have had a hard time with the ADHD medication shortage. I have been more tired than the usual over tired, probably from the effort taken to do anything like focus. And the anxiety and Rejection Sensitivity Dysphoria came back and hit me badly. It is funny that the ADHD meds help so much compared to other medications. I have some for the rest of the year at least. And hopefully the situation is resolving. @swanny Anti-depressants no longer working is a known thing.
