No point posting in the 2011 one when all news now will relate to next year.

It will be great to see 6 World Champions on the grid next year with Kimi Raikkonen joining Lotus (last years Renault).

The rumour mill on BBC today has suggested that Lotus are possibly bringing in a woman to be their reserve driver :omg!:

Probably will.

Some teams haven't released there drivers for 2012 yet.

Williams and Force India among them.

Force India have a tough choice to make. di Resta, Sutil and Hulkenburg. 3 into 2 doesn't go. Should be di Resta and Hulkenburg but what about Sutil? Williams?

Watching cars go around a track seventy times before the driver with the best car wins.

You would get more entertainment watching Thomas the Tank Engine IMO. :smuggy:

Nobody ever wins in Thomas the Tank Engine though. They never race.

I think Di Resta and Hulkenburg are certs to get the drives for Force India with Sutil moving on, probably to Williams.

Di Resta will end up at Mercedes if he continues to perform in 2012.

Depends if the rb8 is a rocket ship - he won't win it in a car of similar ability IMO... The removal of the ebd is massive - will be interesting to see how that pans out... I hope finger boy takes a tanking from someone

Congratulations to Paul di Resta on winning the Autosport 2011 rookie of the year.

No mean feat considering its rookies from all forms of motorsport and not just F1.

Sauber look to be withdrawing from FOTA aswell now and speculation is that Toro Rosso will also withdraw.

Renault have confirmed that Romain Grosjeanwill partner Kimi Riakkonien. Where next for Kubica?

If he was to get fit before the end of the season I'd imagine he'd get put back in Grosjean's seat.

2013 season he'll be at Ferrari to replace Massa.

Will Kubica ever be back?

I have my doubts. I hope I'm wrong but I just can't see it.

Where will Petrov and Senna go? Scrapheap?

Good news.

Good team pairing.

What about the Toro Rosso's? Getting shot of both Algesuari and Buemi for Daniel Ricciardo and Jean-Eric Vergne. A bit of a gamble I think.

Torro Rosso seem to have a set up that they only have rookie drivers, Buemi and Alguersuari have been there for over 2 seasons and are apparently not rookies anymore.

Bit of a shame on Alguersuari, he looks like he's got some good potential.

I actually thought both drivers had potential.

Its probably Red Bulls decision though. They probably don't rate either good enough so there's no point in Toro Rosso keeping them. Pity.

Posted

I'm just thinking maybe Alguersuari will go to HRT? They seem to be intent on becoming a Spanish national team. Jaime is Spanish, talented and needs a drive... so why not?

Aside from the Williams spot which Sutil seems to be tipped for that's the only main seat left for 2012.

Rule was put in place because of Schumacher on Hamilton... Does it apply at the start of races? Some of vettels blocks at the start of the races were outrageous

Ideally it should apply but Charlie Whiting has said its hard to implement at the start of races because there is so much going on.

You know mate getting into the lead and being able to look after your tires was the primary reason vettel won the championship, not having to drive around in dirty air was an enormous factor for him (I'm not sure I like the fact that tires are so key TBH)... I don't blame him but some of the moves he pulled on Hamilton and especially the one on button were really bad... CW has to be a bit clearer on that one INO

buemi has been fully dropped by toro rosso and picked up as red bulls reserve driver

Think from pole position it should be fair enough to penalise someone for making 2 moves to block seeing as they won't be trying to avoid cars in front of them, others in the grid it would be a lot harder to judge whether they are blocking moves or just trying to avoid colliding with those in front.

The starts will be tricky. The pole man should only be allowed one move though. The rest might be avoiding cars around and in front.

Strange that Toro Rosso drop Buemi and he's now the official Red Bull reserve. Doesn't make sense.

Would certainly be my choice but wouldn't be surprised if they just reverted back to the Nurburgring being the home of the European grand prix again.

Agree, the worst circuit ever used, by a country mile.
