Team for Wednesday v Celtic

McGhee

Ozturk

Wilson

Eckersley

King

Gomis

Buaben

Pallardo

Walker

Sow

Subs: Gallacher, Paterson, Holt, El Hass, Carrick

Reckon Pallardo was being kept fresh for this one. Nicholson, McHattie and Keatings fresh for the Livvy game, perhaps giving some players a rest.

Still think Paterson needs some games in the U20s to get up to speed. Couple of brainfarts yesterday that a better team would punish.

I would be happy with this team.

Reckon you're right that Pallardo was kept; squad looks likely too

No sense he was excluded yesterday unless this is the case

Definately think El Has and Pallardo if fit will start

Whilst I would happily go out the league cup this game would be a great one in which to send out a statement in!

What was wrong with him?

Levein tweeted that he has a slight thigh strain and will resume training at the end of the week.

So looks like we are unlikely to see him until Dumfries. At least the Prince is back :-)

I'd be happy if Robbie put out a shadow team, but he won't. I reckon it will be...

Alexander

Paterson, ?zt?rk, Wilson, McHattie

King, Buaben, Gomis, Nicholson

Keatings, Sow

Subs: Hamilton, McGhee, Pallardo, Holt, Walker, Carrick, El Hassnaoui

P.S. It is getting increasingly more difficult to pick a bench. Pleasing.

Only 5 on the bench for this one , so even more difficult!

Why not try McGhee with either Wilson or ozturk, keep one of them for Livvy and also seeing how McGhee copes in his supposedly best position. Like to see El hass from the start

If we want to rest players for Livingston

Saying that though it's on a Sunday so we could easily go full strength

We should be able to defeat McGlynns Livi at home

In that case I'd stick with Keatings and give Carrick 15/20 Mins if possible/required.

Neilson's programme notes yesterday mentioned the league being the priority. Bearing that in mind, I reckon we might rest Gomis, King (possibly a place on the bench) and Sow, along with the guys who missed out yesterday. Maybe something like this.

Alexander

Paterson Ozturk Wilson Eckersley

Walker Holt Buaben Carrick

El Hassnaoui

Keatings

Subs: Hamilton, McGhee, McKay, Robinson, Beith, King, Roy.

This would have been a good chance for us to see Pallardo and if he can recover in time I'd like to see him start alongside Buaben, with Holt dropping to the bench.

Were you at the Livingston game or do you remember last time we played CEltic with McGhee starting?

We have a strong team and a strong bench lets play to win it with our strongest available 11

I thought they'd changed that last year? I'll go and have a wee gander. If it is five, some well performing players will be in the stand.

Paterson just coming back from injury, 2 games in 5 and possibly 3 in 8 days might be too much too soon.

Suspect we won't see a team this strong. More likely game time for McKay and Robinson etc. suspect Robbie will see league as big priority, which is fair.

Baffled by the shouts of playing half a team for the sake of the league. Pumping by Celtic could de-rail us. Strongest possible side is a must for me. Either that or the u20's. Half and half will just end in disaster and rip the confidence from half the first team.

Pallardo can'nt be fit he hasn't kicked a ball , he is injured I realy can't see him starting against Celtic, no chance.

Whilst the league is the priority we clearly have a chance to beat Celtic if we play our strongest team.

Robbie must see that the team will get a lot out of playing Celtic particularly if they put in a good performance.

Will it be the strongest team?

I don't know, but for example it seems an ideal game to start El Hass. It would also be a good game to get buaben back in the team and get a run. It would have been perfect for Pallardo but he might not be fit enough.

Anyone know what story is with Nicholson? Made sense not to chance him yesterday if he could play on Weds. Wide pitch and the possibility of Ambrose at right back means he could run riot.

I reckon Robbie will want to test the team to see what level they can get to.

He will go with the strongest available team, which is the way it should be in these matches.

We don't play till Sunday at 4 so would play as near a full team as possible. Maybe bring Bauben back in and give Gomis a rest IMO.

crazy. we aren't going to win the cup plus who cares if we do. promotion is everything. random draw of season ticket holders, one day pro contract.

Let's face it. We'll be playing on the counter and won't see that much of the ball. They won't exactly need to kick us off the park.

The only injury I'd panic about is Prince Buaben who doesn't have a peer. Holt can play Gomis' role. Not as well, but more than aptly enough for the championship. Think we've already seen that Holt is better playing as a deeper playmaker.
