Adrian Mrowiec

Best Hero

What a performance from a player who gets a lot of unnecessary stick from a lot of fans at Tynie. Thought he shoved it right up them today with a brilliant game.

He plays with 110% from the first whistle to the last and was my stand-out man of the match today. Totally underrated and does a great job in midfield which often goes un-noticed. Great game, long may it continue.

Adrian, you did the jersey proud today!

Every team needs a player like Adrian it's when you have too many players similar to him in the team that things look really shit.

Thought he was MOTM today. Only criticism is he has a habit to play the odd very slack pass which will get horribly punished on thursday.

Every much the player Brellier was for us if not better. But he is not proclaimed as genius by the kickback mafia like Brellier.

Interesting !

You're paranoid. There's a thread on Kickback, with everyone agreeing he was great.

But no, Kickback thinks he's gash. rolleyes.gif

I'd be minority but his immobility was part of reason why we lost control on midfield until Rudi came in.

Also he must improve his off-the-ball movement when receiving passes to give himself time and space to make meaningful distribution.

A number of straight pass back to Kello was totally embarrassing.

He was ok at this level, playing against teams in lower end of the table.

But if we want to compete against OF or Europe, he has to up his game significantly.

Not sure what your getting at, there's been a few threads on here comparing Mrowiec and Brellier and it's been fairly even. Personally I'd take Adrian over 'Le Juge' any day of the week.

Excellent again today

He's a defensive midfielder. His role is to win the ball and move it on, not to be creative. He's also there to cover the back 4 and he did this well today. His passes back to Kello were to retain possession of the ball.

Mrowiec & Robinson complimented each other very well in the middle today. Mrowiec done the dirty work and Robinson provided a lot of energy and drive in the midfield.

In most cases his pass back ended up with Kello's punt forward.

To keep possession?

Sorry not in my book.

He could have dropped down bit more deeply to receive passes which would allow him to take a touch, control the ball, turn and pass side way/forward.

Instead, he kept receiving balls middle of the park and passing straight back.

There were a lot of movements in Aberdeen midfield he could learn from today.

No-one seems to count the pass backs to Kello that any other player made today, and there were plenty to choose from. Anyway, what's wrong, at two and three nil up, to play the ball back to your kepper? His job is holding midfielder, to break down play and make sure we keep the ball and he did it brilliantly today.

Would love to see him score. :whistling:

He made plenty of passes sideways and forward too. A few times Kello was his only option so he correctly used him. He's never going to be a player with really good movement and passing but he will do the defensive side of his role well.

Howdy Doody Jambo

He wont play any better than that all season , he cannot pass a ball forward , the pass-back specialist

Unsung hero type , every team needs one .

Well done

I have to begrudgingly agree. He does what Black does but seems to get away with it. He doesn't carry that stigma that Black does so isn't hounded by refs/fans. Has more of a physical presence too.

Agree with another poster that Mrowiec and Black can't play in the same team.

Those comparing him to Brellier...

AM was MOTM today.

Grainger, though, has easily been our most consistent performer this season and was good again today.

Spot on,he was good but against a poor aberdeen team,we will have to wait and see?

Thunderstruck

In his role, which is defensive midfield, he has to be able to read the game to be in the right place at the right time. Today, he was always in the right place at the right time and covered a lot of ground today in blocking, tackling and making space. Very good performance from him today.

The commentators on Alba agree.

Both Motherwell and Dundee Utd games the midfield was poor, no movement whatsoever. It was obvious to anyone who knows anything about football that Mrowiec and Black just don't work in midfield. Scott Robinson came in today and the movement was far better. It proves something that Mrowiec got man of the match today while Sutton played his more natural style instead of just throwing himself about hoping for something to come off. That was almost a Kevin Kyle performance from him today. Much happier with the performance of all the players today and a nice wee boost to their confidence for the Spurs game.

Adi played very well today but his back passes and passes across the defence are a disaster waiting to happen, eg great through ball he played for Utd!

Good performance today though.

Defo my MOTM today, with Robinson a close second.

Robinson had a good game today too. Also Grainger had a brilliant match again and if he keeps playing like that he'll prove to be one of JJ's best ever signings for us.

AM is not one of my favourite players but today he stood out like a sore thumb. As pointed out earlier maybe he and Black can't play together. That isn't an admission that Robinson is the answer, but maybe a pointer where AM should play. Same theory applies to Sutton when Stevo moved right

Could someone explain to me what Brellier brought to the team that Mrowiec doesn't?

If you need that explained then you'll never get it.

Brellier was a far better footballer. He does the same as Mrowiec defensively and with a greater level of consistency. What Brellier did better was his distribution once he has won a ball. Oh, and he was ferocious in the tackle.

Mrowiec, playing like he did yesterday, can and should be a fixture in our side, he doesn't do it often enough and will need to up his consistency level for me. He's no Brellier though.
