Guest John Meurig Thomas
http://www.bbc.co.uk...cation-12171281 Worth a listen. He gets torn apart quite elegantly (if you can put it that way) in a debate about education but still manages to patronise the caller. Well done that caller, tbh. The only thing I'd disagree with is when he said pushing children into the five recommended subjects will impact on their creativity. I doubt it, tbh. Scientists and mathematicians are some of the most creative people around - they simply have to be to come up with solutions to problems that don't exist. But that's a rant for another thread. Thought Mr Gove did pretty well there (as he did on Question Time). Never popular when you upset the apple cart, however is anyone arguing lets keep things the same in the English educational state system ? Rock and a Hard place.
