Cristiano Ronaldo - Awesome

Even as a Gooner with a pathological hatred of Manure, I admire C Ronaldo.

He is one of the best players on the planet and has been for the last two seasons.

The difference between a forward player and a striker is??

John

Larry Kingston is a forward player.

Is he a striker?

I think by striker most people mean a player similar to a "centre forward" in the old parlance. whereas a forward could be a player in any number of attacking positions.

How the hell does he do those free kicks? what a strike!

My mate told me tonight that he hits the ball on the valve part. Not seen anyone else been able to hit them like this.

Perhaps our players could practice this in training

:omg:

Ronaldo is excellent but I think the signing of the season was definitely Torres. Mate of mine is a Liverpool fan and I told him they'd got a brilliant player at the start of the season!

Could you imagine Ronaldo and Torres on the same team? Scary.

Would that formation work these days?

If I was Hearts' manager, I'd use that as an experiment (as I've never seen it used):)

....................Banks

..............Karipidis Berra

....Neilson Jonsson Palazuelos

Mikoliunas.......................Wallace

........Kingston.........Driver

....................Nade

We would still struggle to score goals with the players in that team.Wouldn't football be great to watch if Fifa made that formation law though.

Exactly mate, I was born in '74 ;)

The 80's were pretty special as a 'Pool' fan, but I was still too young.

Doesn't make you change your team though does it?

Anyway, Ronaldo, WOW.

Through the eighties uptil 89/90 Liverpool won the league 6 times and were runners up a few times, yet you claim NOT to be a glory hunter?

How does that work?

That is 24 in the league so far in 23 starts (I think).

Alan Shearer has the record for the amount for goals in one English Permier League season - 31.

So it is pretty straight forward. Ronaldo scores in each of the last 8 games he will hold the record. For a winger as well.

He is different class. BUT I very rarely see him step up to the plate in massive matches. With Liverpool, Aresenal and Chelsea still to play and with United in the last 8 of the Champions League he needs to step up.
