Wallace targets hibs .

Can't see the article but I saw his interview on Hearts TV.

He didn't actually say that we're actively pursuing Hibs. It's just another shameless media sensationalisation, but what's new?

The fact that we could theoretically still catch them is slightly surprising given that we've had 12-15 players missing every week for the last 2.5 months.

Whether we do get close to them is largely dependent on us getting a significant proportion of those players back soon, and also improving our appalling away record.

Lee also in the daily ranger talking about the possible return of Robbo:

LEE WALLACE insists there's nobody better to train Hearts' strikers than Jambos goal hero John Robertson.

The left-back was only 17 when Robbo, then manager at Tynecastle, handed him a first-team debut in a Scottish Cup tie against Kilmarnock.

That was five years ago and since then Wallace has established himself as one of the SPL's most consistent full-backs who has been touted to land a big move in the near future.

Robbo is expected to accept Jim Jefferies' offer to give his young strikers part-time coaching lessons over the coming months.

And Wallace said: "It would be good for Robbo to come here because I personally have a lot of respect for him.

"He is a club legend who gave me my debut at a very young age. It would be massive if he came in to help. His scoring record was fantastic with Hearts and it can only benefit us if the option for him to work at the club was there.

"In time he would be a huge asset if we had someone of his quality helping our strikers."

Wallace revealed he is desperate to impress another Jambo hero over the next few weeks.

The defender's good form forced his way into former boss George Burley's plans and he is ready for more international football, starting with next month's friendly with the Czechs.

Wallace said: "I played in the friendly in Japan and it was a real honour so I hope I can impress Craig Levein.

"It's massive to represent your country and I'm hungry for that to happen again."

Wallace played in the battle of New Douglas Park the last time Hearts met Hamilton when punches were thrown in the tunnel on an afternoon of madness.

Accies visit Tynecastle tomorrow but Wallace said: "What happened in that game can happen to any team. It was actually quickly brushed away a few days afterwards.

"There will be no bad feeling. We are all professional and are only interested in winning the game."

Radioactive Mince

Chaps - Let's not get carried away about ending our run of four straight defeats, without a goal scored, against the team which will most probably be playing 1st division football next season. If HIVs lose today and we manage a win tomorrow, then things look a little better. We then go to Pittodrie, Tannadice and Fir Park. 6 points out of those three would be groovy, if unlikely, while HIVs have two home games in that period against St. Johnstone and Kilmarnock respectively. Should HIVs come out of these two with less than six points, in tandem with the above scenarios unfolding, then the derby at Tynecastle one month from today takes on a whole new significance. There is a lot that can go right or wrong between now and then. The main thing for us is to hope for 8 or 9 points from our next four games. Achieve that and we can still be in the hunt come derby day, as HIVs will drop points somewhere.
