Or re-signing a player and they all need taken into account (budget, attitude, ability, fitness, can play in more than one position etc) - Which ONE of these do you consider the nost important. If the answer is 'ability' the follow up question would be - are you looking to sign a forward who can score or a defender who can defenf? If the answer is 'attitude' the follow up question would be - are you looking to sign a midfielder who 'cares'? If the answer is 'can play in more than one position' the follow up question would be - are you looking to sign another Eggert! ? Given that that these are two areas in which you excelled in your first tenure as manager, producing such players as Locke, Ritchie, Naysmith etc, and managing to find diamonds from smaller clubs in McCann and Cameron et al, I would be interested to know, with all things considered, who you think will win the 2.10 at Ascot on Saturday?
