Not Wales

Certainly looks like a Norman castle and if it ain't Wales it must narrow it down to England or France....I think

h6.JPG.f4034754c94429f98791e7dc19619e0d.JPGThe part I loved about the castle was the walk down through the town. It had retained the original alleys and cobbled streets with the original shop fronts, something Edinburgh could learn lessons from but its not a hugely popular location for Brits.

I posted it and then read the bit about it not being popular with Brits. D'oh!

So I don't throw everyone on a wild goose chase, you can fly direct to the island(clue) but there aren't many flights per week. Much more popular with northern Europeans such as Germans and Scandinavians.

And well deserved as I deliberately took all my photos with this thread in mind, the normal postcard view is slightly different and would have been easier to find

Correct, that one maybe made it too easy.

Point to redjambo

That takes me back. ;)

I have to say though that I didn't actually manage to find an image of those kids on the bench on the web, even though you hinted exactly where it was!

I found a very similar image at the sharm el sheikh shopping centre.

Man, that has to be the same sculpture, or an exact copy. It looks identical to me!

Impressive.

I've got a strong interest in the American Civil War (battles, not the politics) and that picture was used in the media a few years back when they were forced by some act to remove the Confederate battle flag.

Ah, I visited it last year. Confederate flag now gone but the tour guide still points out where the union army fired their shellls from.

Charleston was also fantastic for civil war stuff.
