It had retained the original alleys and cobbled streets with the original shop fronts, something Edinburgh could learn lessons from but its not a hugely popular location for Brits. So I don't throw everyone on a wild goose chase, you can fly direct to the island(clue) but there aren't many flights per week. Ah, I visited it last year. Confederate flag now gone but the tour guide still points out where the union army fired their shellls from. Charleston was also fantastic for civil war stuff.
