Anybody else see a face in Dunks' pic?

And Dunks, have you cleared the filter?

Which one?

And yes, filter cleared to no avail. Have now removed and rattled the outlet hose and reconnected - so far, so good

Dart River?

And we finally get there. Interested to know how you both got the answers.

The area has been used by the Lord of Rings and Hobbit trilogies as well as the Narnia Chronicles, Perte's Dragon, K2 and others.

A well earned point for All roads lead to Gorgie

A nice pat on the back for redjambo since I've been instructed no more two pointers :D

You've probably gathered by now it's my favourite place in New Zealand - head for Glenorchy.

I just got the Dart River by looking for Mt Earnshaw on a New Zealand map.

I have to say that what the last couple of days have shown me is that Google Maps are lacking considerable detail when it comes to the wilderness.

It wasn't Kirkcaldy, the signs were Manchester dialling code.

It is Kirkcaldy. Home of Jocky Wilson :D

The aerial photo is Earnslaw in the Scottish Borders - the mountain was named after it

Best view of the area was from up here (and yes, I'm the receiver):

If you ever provide a clue again, and I'm wondering whether to try and work it out, I'll think back to this particular post and decide: NO. :D

Thank's for the point. I was sure it was that spot in Colorado, it must have a twin in New Zealand.

Better luck next time. With your efforts I'm sure a few points are just round the corner. The competition is on the rise on this thread and points are well earned for whoever gets there in the end!

Here's the Google Earth view - picture is taken from the tributary in the foreground before it enters the main river. The mountain is the highest point, rather than the pointy peak

Oops! This one. About 3 tenths along from right hand side. Hair forms part of ridge.

I should have added I remembered you had been in the Land of the long white cloud and just googled New Zealand mountains and Earnslaw looked the closest to your second photo

Nope can't see anything. Well apart from the pointy nosed man with the pot belly lying on his back  :whistling:

I'm sure no-one else will be able to see it, but I see a face in the bottom part (slightly right of centre) of that red circle, like one of the Easter Island faces but looking out to the left and with very pouting lips. :D
