Doesn't look or sound like Brady and Gronk will be back, next year.

Not sure about Gronk, actually believe he’s done, but I still think Brady will want to go again. Losing Godwin and Brown was huge. I think he knows he still has a chance at adding another if he still has Evans and Godwin, plus possibly any rookie WR additions. He might be saying things that have folk guessing about retirement, but I’m not convinced just yet. He’s an addict.

He'll need to divorce his Mrs, then. She's not too happy, apparently.

My point, but regardless even with Mahomes, should have been academic.

Actually was rooting for Buffalo. I remember them being on the losing side in 4 consecutive SB's, thought they were way overdue.

Buffalo are never overdue 😉

Payton stepping down from the NO Saints according to multiple reports.

Tough period ahead for the Saints imo. In need of a new QB and massively over the salary cap. Some brutal decisions ahead.

Can see them selling the farm in the offseason. They need to rip it up and start again.

I don't think we'll see Michael Thomas in a Saints jersey again. I imagine there'll be a lot of restructuring going on too, but they desperately need a reliable QB going forward. NFC South should be wide open again if Brady decides he's done.

They’ve a bunch of players they could get some draft capital for. Thomas, Kamara, Jordan, Lattimore, Davenport.

The decision to give Hill that contract though…

Can see a tough few years in store for the Saints.

I think you'll see Thomas go, but they'll do everything they can to keep Kamara, Jordan and Lattimore.

Reading and watching all the talk about Rodgers moving and supposedly Broncos being the destination I was trying to get my head around 'trading' etc.

Can one of the long time fans explain it to me in simple terms please as Google doesn't throw up the best explanations. Also the draft explained would be very appreciated.

I haven't followed the NFL through an off-season yet and would love to know how it all works for the draft.

I haven't followed the NFL through an off-season yet and would love to know how it all works for the draft.

The draft is fairly straightforward at first. It's 7 rounds of picks where all 32 teams pick once in each round, depending on their record the previous season. The team with the worst record picks first in each round, then the 2nd worst, etc, etc, until the Superbowl winner picks last. The picks are from the college ranks of players, where they have to have done 3 years of college before they can enter the draft (so no 18 year old going straight from High School to the NFL). Surprisingly for the USA, it's fairly socialist, in that the worst team are given the most help (in higher picks) to get better!

It's gets more complicated though in that each team can trade draft picks to other teams if they want, either for other draft picks (eg. I'll give you my 1st round pick that's 10th in the round for your 1st round pick at #20 and your 2nd round pick), or for players that the other teams already have (as might happen with Rodgers). Or trade picks in one year for picks in another. That's why you won't see all 32 teams picking as their original draft picks would have had them.

The team, once they draft the player and sign him, own his rights. So for players who've been in the league for a while, that's what other teams would trade their picks for, the player's rights and his contract.

Unlike our football, you can't just buy a player from another team, you have to trade for him.

It gets a lot more complicated than that, but that's the basics. And once you get the draft, it makes it one of the best parts of the offseason, both hoping that your team gets to pick a certain player, and waiting on draft night to see who they do pick.

Brady retiring. GOAT.

Glad I got to see him play last month.

reports saying brady has not decided if he is retiring or not. his father is even doing interviews stating this. what it seems like someone has jumped the gun and brady is waiting until after the superbowl before announcing it

His father is probably just trying to ensure he doesn’t lose out on his payday before he goes. He can’t announce his retirement before that date, as he will lose out on about $20 million. Brady and his wife are definitely not short of a bob or two, but Brady could have made a lot more money during his career. He accepted deals less than his true value, so that it would help his team make it to those Super Bowls. I hope he has one more season, but beginning to think that it’s definitely over now.

Can anyone on here school me as to why KC have had a "challenge" the decision they didn't make that  down ?

It was obvious from the TV pics they made it.

How do challenges work ?

How many does a team have ?

Hard to see the Bengals winning here. Chiefs already running through them at will.

Hope I'm wrong though.

In fact, Chiefs just go ahead...

I can't see Bengals winning after the 9 sackings they took last week.

Someone needs to teach the Bengals how to tackle. Embarrassing efforts to stop Mahones so far, with guys just flailing about.

Unless Bengals defence shows up, Kansas will score every drive.

Now Bengals have decided to play conservative offence. Great, a team that are happy to reach championship game and then shit themselves from trying to win.

I don't particularly like Rams but if they get past SF, they might, just might take the Chiefs on.

The Bengals look like Hibs, big game chokers.

Our D needs to make a stop .. 3 and out .. Boost the confidence

Your D needs a kick up the arse as does the head coach. Just sitting back allowing Chiefs to do as they want.

It's men against chicken hearted boys.

Can they stop the game at halftime? I like Burrows but coaching staff are letting him down.

Keep running on 1st down and face 3rd and long before punting and when defending, put no pressure on Mahones and allow receivers to just brush tackles aside.

At least go down fighting instead of surrendering.

This is gutting, but we are still ahead of the curve in our rebuild, it’s only a start and to be in the Championship game from where we were is a plus..

This Chiefs team are now playing to achieve their 3rd SuperBowl appearance, no disgrace in losing to them.
