Moncs
I think a lot of places are getting a bad name now, you have your usuals like Niddrie, Muirhouse etc etc, but The Inch is getting bad rep recently with the murder and drug related things.
MrBones
Clermiston? Rough? I suppose it depends which part. The bit I stay in most of the residents are in their 70's!
Mort
Out of the ones youve listed definately not Clerry or Drylaw

I'M IBRAHIM TALL
I saw someone throw a cigarette butt in the gutter in Ravelston Dykes the other day. That place is getting more like Basra every day
Guest GhostHunter
Anywhere on the old 32/52 bus route:th_o: The Parkgrove/Barnton turning to go up Drum Brae was really rough.

H.A.N.S
Royston by a mile! Muirhouse, my area for 18 years, is getting some harsh treatment. Although it is very dodgy.

Alan_R
Some of those are a picnic compared to the others. I vote pilton because when I played for a footy team down that way some boy jumped on the back of our moving minibus and tried to shatter the windows with a large machete/knife. Cal_
The Parkgrove/Barnton turning to go up Drum Brae was really rough. Colinton's pretty wild also

bighusref
don't live in edinburgh so im not familiar with all the places sorry:43: Interesting. Why then do you ask? Also, I find it a little funny to find little old Royston get a shout, in fact half of the places on here are quite amusing, particularly those mentioned by Fifers. bighusref
Toss up between Pilton and NIddrie for me, both hell holes! East or west? Bearing in mind, there is Royston in between them.
Fenerjambo
I was brought up next to the Fort down Leith way. I've lived in Clermiston,Stenhouse,Kirkgate House and now currently in Broomhouse. I can honestly say that the Fort was the most scariest of places out of the lot of them by a long way.
The Mighty Thor
East or west? Bearing in mind, there is Royston in between them. Technically speaking Royston borders East Pilton to the north. Ah the areas of my youth, Granton, West Granton, Royston, East Pilton although I rarely strayed into West Pilton or Muirhouse. I think it's all relative. I lived in Granton as a laddie and thought places like Niddrie and Leith were RAF when in reality they're all ****-holes.

Also, I find it a little funny to find little old Royston get a shout, in fact half of the places on here are quite amusing, particularly those mentioned by Fifers. This "honoury" fifer grew up slap bang next to Royston as I supsect you are aware of:10900: Although I do live in a posh part of Fife:2thumbsup:

Its a very respectable area I assume it's got better since they demolished Hyvots,I lived at East Kilngate for 4 years moved out in 20 03 and Gilmerton was still a scary place then

Pete Seeger
I don't know the worst bits regarding crime and poverty but to look at Greendykes, Pennywell, West Pilton and the Calders take a bit of beating.
Gavsy Van Gaverson
I've changed my mind, I went for Niddrie but really the worst place i've been in is Broomhouse. Broomhouse Grove is pretty dodgy (the square in the middle near the Gauntlet) but the rest of Broomhouse is far from the worst in Edinburgh. Just my opinion though.
