BS1 should give the masons that vital(ish) who's the cop info AND some info on the investigated player (Malky...do we have mason-type roles in this game? All these bloody role names do my head in )

 

And BS2...well...I'm still convinced it gives us the greatest chance of bagging a goon in the early stages though I haven't been ersed to look back and see how well the goons hid in the early days of the last game, but given that it took such a long time to identify them I'd be pretty confident in arguing that early day voting patterns tell us so little that BS2 could be a go-er.

 

For me it was really posting style (and believing rossi) that got me Malky and Flux towards the end of the last game. I think I'd rumbled Malky pretty early on but unfortunately also had Medico as dodgy and, I don't know about the rest of you, but once I decide someone is dodgy (usually for the flimsiest of reasons) it usually takes a hell of a lot of convincing to change my mind.

 

Whew...I've said a lot...time for a pint I think.

Just having a re-think about BS2...it seems there's a greater chance of bagging a goodly-roled townie than a goon so it's maybe not as whoop-di-doo an idea as I thought last game.

@Yvonne...

 

BS1 was the one where the policeman would be able to reveal his/her identity to the masons by investigating the player below them on the list. Why it works is that you would investigate me and the result would go to you and the masons. This would mean that you and they would know my identity and also that the masons would know that you'd have to be the cop so they could protect you later - or maybe not actually protect, but stick up for you if things got dodgy. Additionally, the cop can (more likely later on in the game) work out who the masons are by noting who other folk find as trustworthy or dodgy (from the results of investigations).

The only drawback is that, if the cop finds a goon on the first day Malky will say so meaning the goons know that the cop can only be one of three (if we have three goons) people...meaning that the goons will be focussing on the posts of the three people above them in the list to see who looks coppiest. And, possibly, whacking that player off at night - though that's a potentially risky thing for them to do as attention WILL focus on that player for appearing dodgy.

All in all I think it's a good strategy for the town and, if I was the cop I'd be using it. That's why I put in the appeal to state whether or not you'd use it if you were the cop at the start so that when the result of the investigation comes through to the masons they'll know if who they think the cop is actually IS.
