Craigieboy
I remember it well; Hearts playing in an all white away kit (the way it should be). Great season from Aug - Jan, that. Buffalo Bill . If I recollect, it was Aberdeen who put us to the sword at Tynie & ended a really good run in the January. 4-0. I'm sure in that season there was a game at Tynecastle when we beat Motherwell 3-1 (around Nov?). They took the lead. Was that the day we sung 'happy birthday' to Joe Jordan? . Jambo66
2-2 Rangers in the early 1980s when we scored 2 in injury time. They slaughtered us that day - it could have been 6-0 easily. The best bit was seeing a policeman pitchside in front of the Wheatfield exit trying his hardest not to celebrate with the rest of us when we got the equaliser. My mate and I got a slightly strange look from a cabbie after the game who stopped to ask us the score. We told him it was 2-2 for Hearts!

Ray Winstone
Neil McFarlane's first and only goal for the club. Midweek replay against Partick Thistle at Tyie. Just the kind of goal you always expected him to score - ball rolling toward the line 3 yards out and he somehow sclaffs it over the line. Wonderful goal. Apart from that it has to Billy Dodds kicking himself in the face.
Diego10
beating St Mirren 6-0 at love street at the start of 1988. Francis Albert
Maybe for me the last game of the very first relegation season in over 100 years of Hearts history. We beat Motherwell 3-2 and the 6000 or so there actually cheered and gave a few choruses of "We'll Support You Ever More". A sign that there maybe was life after what seemed a lot like death. Dirk Diggler
Sergio putting Dundee Utd ahead only for Johnny Millar to score twice (Both goals were remarkably similar iirc) sure it was a Sunday game and was live on the TV. Scottish cup I think. Possibly the same year and tournament, Beating Rangers 4-2 at Tynie, Colin Millar Scored a daisy cutter free Kick and big Hee haw ran the length of the park to set one up, Thomas? Robbo? Willie Jamieson hitting an absolute raker from about 30 yards and it finding the back of the net in a game against the beasts. Could also have been the same season, I think we were in the process of building the School end stand.

Kenny ******* Powers
Also Craig Gordons miracle save at the end of the Motherwell game at Tynie under Burley. One of my favourites was his triple save against Sparta Prague. I remember sitting there thinking how the hell did he do that. I think it is on you tube. In the end it didn't really mean much in terms of going through but always stuck in my mind. I'm sure he had a wonder save from Rob Jones late on in a game as well. I think it was the 2-2 game when we came back from 2 behind. World class keeper.

CJGJ
Being 'banned' at Aberdeen away when they wanted no away fans -- we played them midweek prior to weekend match and tickets were 'purchased' for weekend game -- sat in traditional Aberdeen part of ther stand prior to kick off when a couple of people stood up and started singing the Hearts song, a few others joined in and we were all escorted out of the stand, right round the outside of the ground and into a corner of the beach end -- about 1-200 of us. Buffalo Bill . Was that the game we lost 4-0 whn Robbo got sent off early doors for throwing the ball at an Aberdeen defender? It's another Aberdeen game that always stands out for me. Robbo's goal in the semi-final at Hampden in 1996. I'd watched us lose to St Midden, Celtic and Airdrie (twice - well, three counting the replay) in big Hampden semis. That was the day we broke that particular hoodoo. And even that was after Shearer gave us a scare.

Only a Game
I remember a cup defeat at Tannadice. We took about 8000 there and lost to an early goal. What was memorable about it was the Hearts support that day. Every last one of us sang like feck for the whole game. I remember Hamish McAlpine and a few of the other Dundee Utd players applauding us at the end. Cant remember the year but it was when Utd has a decent side so must have been mid eighties Ive never known anything like it for atmosphere, apart from possibly pre-match in the 2006 semi (a game won before a ball was kicked) People were drenched with sweat and competely drained at the end of it !!! Busby8
We'd just lost 3-1 at fester rd after being 1-0 up with a Darren Jackson screamer. I remember being in the boozer after and lamenting our lack of midfield options, suggesting that the only one that we really had was Lee Mackel. Now I was never a really big fan of his, mainly because although he was class with the ball at his feet, he was fairly lazy. Anyway,.....lo and behold. The next midweek game against the sheep at Tynie, he gets recalled. That night was Mackel's finest night in maroon. The guy was sensational. No-one could get the ball off him. Passes sprayed all over the park. Without doubt, one of the finest midfield performances I have ever seen from any Hearts player,...............and I've seen a few. Unfortunately for Lee, he was never again to achieve anything like he did that night, and ended up drifting out of the squad. MrH
Was that the game we lost 4-0 whn Robbo got sent off early doors for throwing the ball at an Aberdeen defender? Nah different game - the one you're thinking about was when we were actually a goal up and Robbo was playing a blinder. Then for about the 4th time in the first 10 minutes Brian Irvine went right through him from the back - to this day I don't think Robbo meant to hit him with the ball but.....he did and he was off. Irvine? Not even a booking. The 4-0 game BB's referring to was just an absolute capitulation after a long unbeaten run - the bubble well and truly burst the following week at Broomfield..... Randy Marsh
One of my best memories was - Celtic 2 Hearts 3, Feb 5th 2000. Remember the wednesday prior to this match we lost 1-0 at Killie in the diddie cup and i dont think we registered a shot on goal. Didnt have much confidence going into this one and celtic went 2 up early doors and it was going on 10! But Mickey pulled one back on the stroke of half-time and we dominated after that. Naysmith screamer for the equaliser and a penalty (JACKSON DIVE) from Mickey wrapped it up late on.
Snake Plissken
Stampy's Di Canio-esque effort against Dunfirmline in 2002/03 when he crashed a volley off the bar from 30 yards that would have been goal of the decade had it gone in. We won 3-0, it was my first match at Tynecastle. Dennis Wyness' equaliser against Rangers the following season, dodgy penalty against us and we tried everything but nothing seemed to work then out of nowhere the ball falls to Wyness on the volley and he fairly crashed it into the bottom corner. His goal against Dumfermline was something else as well.

Darren
The one that sticks out for me is Alan Maybury's late winner against Partick Thistle at Tynecastle under Levein. It came out of nowhere and was an absolute thunderbolt. As for MacFarlane, my fondest memory of him was his last appearance for Hearts. Came on as a sub, got the ball in the middle of the park with play opening up in front of him. At this point he turned and played the ball back a full 50 yards to Craig Gordon, to a standing ovation from much of the Hearts support. Legend !
