We were in a "Euro spot" before Aguair lifted us there. But it is the Hibsman.

Not necessarily.

Aye - highly unusual to see an article in this particular tome in which the author isnae getting all misty-eyed and wet-knickered over Edwards & Cropley, etc - an allegedly 'great' team that won ****-all worthwhile!

Cheers for posting the link, Geoff, my man!

?

If a side finishing below 4th wins the Cup (unlikely, but not impossible - especially in a season as tight as this), the fifth-placed team doesn't make it.

We were 4th going into today's game.

Shaun -

The Scottish Premier League is currently tenth in UEFA's co-efficient ranking, meaning that two SPL clubs currently qualify for the UEFA Champions League (the SPL champions, who progress directly to the group stage, and the runner-up, who enter the third qualifying round) as well as two qualifying for the UEFA Europa League (the third and fourth placed clubs). The winners of the Scottish Cup also qualify for the UEFA Europa League. If the winner of the Scottish Cup has already qualified for Europe via their league position, the UEFA Europa League place is allocated to the runner-up. If both Scottish Cup final representitives have qualified for Europe via their league position, the final UEFA Europa League place is given the SPL's fifth placed club.

Oh. This gets more and more confusing. NMH posted the other day that the Cup runners-up definitely don't get in any more - but this contradicts that. I'm not sure either way, to be honest.

Tried reading the article but managed the end of the third paragraph and came to the conclusion of: 'what a load of bollocks.'

What do the press want? If Csabba gave one word answers they'd refer to that; he gives full answers (that have been run by Romanov for scrutiny, word by word like the numerous climate 'treaties', yes there is dispute and debate about every word of any agreement that may and is reached) to questions, is seen as 'likeable' but does manage NOT to be included in the 'Think Tank'(using someone elses term there!) on how to improve Football in this godforsaken country.

Anyway, 4th= Europe

Just to cover... 3rd and cup= Europe:)

Oh dear! Let's just finish 3rd and avoid having to worry about any of the above.

Fair play to you for making this available to us at 2.57am. :)

It's right. You would expect people who are full time sports journalists, along with their sub-editors and sports editors to know such things.

It's right, next season there is no Intertattie Cup, the 'Europa League' ties start earlier instead thats where the extra place come from. It was quite widely reported in the Summer
