Walter Bishop
Bloody hell, she was my music teacher out in the wilds of Livi in the early 90s! Nippy, but fairly tidy as I remember. Must be knocking on a bit now surely! Inveralmond high? Her name rings a bell!
269miles
I went to the Famous Inveralmond High School in livingston, we came we saw and we conquered Musselburgh,Lasswade,St Davids,Broughton,Forrester? and many more in my time as skipper!!! Did all you towny's not have to wear grey caps and 3/4 length trousers back in the day!! ;) I went to Broughton 1972-78 : I don't remember encountering you Johnny-come-latelies at either footie or egg cuddling. It was pretty good then but by the time I left you could see the writing on the wall : some real dregs were appearing who previously wouldn't have got within a million miles of the schol (which still had the 11-plus up to 1971 I think). Highlights of my time there : Rugby team all sent off v Queen Ann High School because one of our players (in 9 inch DMs) beat the crap out of a guy at the bottom of a ruck. Regular battles thereafter. One of our players getting bottled at St Auggies after a footie game. Cricket getting banned because one guy hit a 6 and put a ball through a car windscreen (which happened to be driving by at the time) : unlucky for us, the HQ for Lothians' finest was across the road from the school. Regular fights when the girls from RHS came down for home economics lessons. Added to that , some genius at the school had the idea that all the retards would be kept away from the 'normal' folk , as far as possible. This resulted in all the nutters (male) going to home economics where they had unlimited access to very sharp knives:rolleyes:

Louise
Craigie recently had a pretty good one where the most of the school walked out at break in protest of the new Stalin of a headteacher. Quite impressive but the rivalry between Auggies and Forries surely cannot be equalled by any other 2 schools. Haha had forgotten about that, the first one was shortly before I left. We went on a spontaneous strike, the guy is an absolute erse. Fancy trying to make Craigie kids wear a blazer I'm sure the strike was caused when he tried to ban muck-up day!! Hope he found the kipper we hid on top of one of the ceiling tiles. However would like to point out, I am under no illusions and realise Craigie is tame as anything now. sdoffstl
I have it on very good authority (my father) that Mr Morley the English teacher at Drum Brae was none other than Reg Holdsworth from Coronation Street - Alan Wells??!! Pah! Can't remember him at Drumbrae but he was at Craigmount when it first opened as was Elaine C Anyway, Craigmount (when it first opened) with half the Clerie Jungle there was an "interesting" time

I think you're mistaken in your assertion that the original building was sinking. Regardless, it certainly needed replaced, although sadly the new one doesn't look a whole lot different. There were a few dodgy members on the teaching staff, although I wouldn't go naming names...

tonyblair
Hello chaps. I was at Fettes in the seventies and we were pretty darn tough. Once a chap from Broughton came in to our substantial private grounds. I immediately called the Police, who kindly came along and kicked him in for us! Oh how we laughed, the headmaster said it was a great day.

Cobblers
I had a lucky escape. Living in Muirhouse I was due to go to Craigroyston. Stupid Sexy Flanders
I went to Alloa Academy. It was well tame. I remember one guy sh*t himself once. He made the mistake of announcing to the whole class that he was away for a dump and the class hard-nut wouldn't let him leave the room. EDIT: I realise the thread is entitled "Radgest school in Edinburgh" but I wanted to join in.
