Just for the record, the Ashvale aside, Aberdeen possibly has the worst chippys in Scotland.

Try Mr Chips in Culter.

Whatever happened to Bratissanis in Haymarket? I'm showing my age.

A Bratissani's chippy after going to the Commie (which had flumes at the time).

Good times.

Now were talking.

How about a couple of pints at the Lemmie (now defunct).

Down to Babars opposite the Usher Hall (now defunct) for a curry.

Back up to Bennets or the Golf Tavern for a nightcap.

Drop in at the Lemmie on the way home.

Feckin luxury.

The youth today, they dont know they are born.

It's an hour's drive out of town, but it's probably worth it for what is an incomparable fish supper, head and shoulders above anything I've had anywhere else.

I honestly didn't think it would live up to the hype, but it was stunning. If they were in Edinburgh I'd be there every night.

absolutely fab chippie, i love the fish and chips from there, god i feel hungry now, could fair go a fish supper, but it's either chops or sweet and sour chicken for tea, not made my mind up yet:cool:

The People's Chimp

For absolutely outrageous post diggers match day banter, you've got to try the fish bridge bar. The guy in there is a total loon.

I'd say the alba d'oro, the haggis suppers are supreme.

Edinburgh definitely has the best chippies in the country, fife isn't far behind, but that excepted, most of the rest of the country has a tough time.

A special mention for the late C-STAR, definitely my favourite chippy frowing up, pizza suppers from there were top notch.

A special mention for the late C-STAR, .

Has it gone now?...no surprise if so.

When the bearded lady that owned the worst chippy ever (under the bridge on Dalry Road, opp petrol station).......moved to or bought the C-star. I knew its days were numbered.

best chippy .....BBQ.

I used to go when i was at my grans on wheatfield st, but only at a few european games after she died, in 92, i think. So since then i've not kept tabs on it, but it used to be brilliant.

Jesus, that chippie was rank. I used to live above The Balmoral on Dalry Road and would occasionally get a chippie from there. ALWAYS regretted it after being brought up on the BBQ chippies

Did the Health and Safety inspectorate not find some unwelcome four-legged diners?
