How about a couple of pints at the Lemmie (now defunct). Down to Babars opposite the Usher Hall (now defunct) for a curry. Back up to Bennets or the Golf Tavern for a nightcap. The guy in there is a total loon. I'd say the alba d'oro, the haggis suppers are supreme. Edinburgh definitely has the best chippies in the country, fife isn't far behind, but that excepted, most of the rest of the country has a tough time. I used to go when i was at my grans on wheatfield st, but only at a few european games after she died, in 92, i think. So since then i've not kept tabs on it, but it used to be brilliant. Jesus, that chippie was rank. I used to live above The Balmoral on Dalry Road and would occasionally get a chippie from there.
