...... if Banks is the new 'goalkeeper coach' then why wasn't he at Ibrox today warming up the keepers?

 

Notice the vital word in the last sentence of the first paragraph in the official statement on the hearts website.

"Youth" is the word which Csaba conveniently missed out in his pre and post match interviews today when announcing the news of Banks' new role.

 

"Youth" translates as the 11-19s a couple of nights a week - no involvement with the first team or even the reserves.

So Csaba doesn't rate him and wants to bring in his own man.

 

He discusses it with the man in charge of the pennies and gets his way.

 

And the problem is ?

Surley as in most walks of life you start at a lower level and work your way up ,to say the coaching the un19s and youth set up is not important for a club our size is total claptrap.

 

I would say devloping the next Gordon is an important role you would not give to just anybody.

We obviously want someone who's actually got experience of coaching as our first goalkeeper coach. Sensible option, and one which Banks obviously was happy in taking.

Misleading? EXACTLY what Csaba wanted to avoid the press quizzing him. Who says Banks is happy about it? He's got 2 years left on his contract and has to do whatever they tell him to.

Yes, 2 years on his contract as a player. They can't just tell him to work on the piestand or hand out programmes just because he's got a contract.

A contract he was willing to sign, and just because you don't know the level doesn't mean doesn't either.
