I've watched that video several times and I still can't figure out what's going on. I'm not even sure why the flag guy gets involved.

The boy with the flag was an absolute roaster today. Seen him arguing with an older guy who queried why he thinks a flag with 1690 on it has any relevance at a Hearts games.

boy needs identified and banned. Had nothing to do with the Ultras by the way.

Is he not wearing an ultra scarf?

Guy with the 1690 flag is a clown, thinks he can do what he wants, runs about with stickers at Tynecastle, slapping “Stop The Boats” stickers about the place, being rude to Stewards and giving kids Union Jack flags to wave.

Following this hopefully Hearts deal with this guy, don’t need this reputation or nonsense

Sounds like he needs a court order preventing him from being within 500 yards of children.

How does this actually happen. A guy in his 40s?!? decides to associate with a bunch of teens and early twenties youths because…

Why can’t he just leave the kids to it.

It’s got **** all to do with the ultras. Surely even the anti ultra brigade can see this now 18 months or so into what they’ve been doing.

Any excuse to blame them.

The ***** with the flag got confronted, threw a punch then scampered like the wee bitch he is.

Too many looking to point fingers with any excuse.

Im an orange man, I know kickback will disapprove, but anyway, that flag is totally irrelevant to football and should never be in a football ground. My mate had his flag checked by security and was only let in when they gave the ok.

Correct.

I'm a Scottish independence man and I'm not waving yes flags at the football.

Our common ground is Hearts. I've no idea why folk don't realise this and fly Hearts flags if they feel the need to wave a bit of cloth about.

They are - but a few of them are very "staunch" the maroon "jacks" you always see at Euro away games - cameras always seem to find them.  Doesn't do much to discount the hun wee team jibe we get.

Loads of teams have UJs in Europe and don't feel shame about it, anyone who has an issue with our flag is more of a bigot imo. This guy seems like a right tube though and should be banned.

See, you're assuming your personal politics should be the same for everyone else. Pretty bigoted imo. You may not like it, but the British people are represented by the UJ. I'm not nationalistic so have no interest in flying a flag of any sort, but a British person taking umbrage at British fans in Europe flying their flag has some issues they need to address. Scotland is a truly tragic place at times.

I am assuming no such thing, but we are a Scottish team representing Scotland in Europe.  Their flag is a Saltire.

Straight on ignore. An Orangeman in 2024 is as relevant as Stephenson’s Rocket is to the East Coast Mainline.

That is what it looked like to me as well . What can happen when you try and be welcoming to Hun fans and let them think they are welcome among the Hearts support . Would have been more amusing if someone had lamped the Hun :(

We're also a British team by virtue of being a Scottish team. To argue against that is simply trying to impose your beliefs on others which isn't okay really.

Would you have an issue with a Lithuanian flag linked with Hearts? What about a Czech one? Or is it just the UJ you have an issue with?

Anyone having an issue with a national flag where the club and/or the people with it are of that nationality needs to grow up and join the 21st century imo.

There's a guy today with a ridiculous flag, behaving like a reprobate and should likely be banned. Fume about that rather than shoehorning your political beliefs into the debate.

That flag was cringeworthy. I recognise another wee tit in that video who was in the previous ultra group, his head is filled with utter p*sh as well.

Never said there was...Hearts and their fans are still British though.

If a french bloke supports us and has a french flag with a Hearts crest on it, is that permissable?

Like it or not, we’re not representing Britain / UK when we play in Europe, we’re representing Scotland.  In the same way the English teams are representing England, not the UK.  So why fans of English or Scottish teams feel the need to fly Union flags or show their Britishness when Britain isn’t being represented has always been a bit of a mystery to me (except Rangers fans of course).

Feeling Scottish or feeling British doesn’t mean you are bigoted.  If you think it does then maybe it’s you that has the problem.

The guy with the 1690 King Billy flag is well involved with the Ultras. He’s been in their section since inception. The flag was out the majority of the game and hee haw was done about it from any within the group, the scuffle in the video has nothing to do with it.

Pretty easy to identify him, as mentioned on the thread hes pretty identifiable and the type you’d expect.

The ultras have done well so far to self police but that sort of flag does them zero favours, an embarrassment to the wider fanbase.

You know what I always remember about that time when young, there was a lovely old lady always stood near the half way line, well dressed  with gloves on and she always took time to bleather away when we spoke to her and it was a pleasure, especially on reflection
