It will be a battle. They have taken over the mantle of a “big fizzical team” so we will need to defend set pieces well - as we did yesterday.

Keep the balls into the box low.

Their defenders will clear all high crosses and punts into the box.

One poster on dot net says left back is a weakness for us.......aye ok!😅

Very confident of winning down the docks

How come we've played St Mirren twice before we've even played the Hobbos, Killie or St Johnstone?

I read somewhere the away game to them was brought forward for some reason, hopefully half an explanation does you!

Ive never went to a derby with my tail wagging.

They will be hurting.

And we have a game Thursday.

Man for man we are far better.

Win the battles one v one .

And we win this.

Hate early kick off times though.

I agree. We’ll need to be up for it.

David Gray seems to be struggling to get the best out of his team but I think they’re better than their results to date.

That said, I’m confident that man-for-man we’ve got the better players. I hope the Hibs ‘keeper has another shocker!

Any win will do. A draw would be adequate but disappointing.

If we beat them next week is it win number 150 against them.

Feeling much more optimistic about next Sunday than I was a month ago. I also have a sneaky feeling that this will be the game Shanks turns his own personal season round. 3-0, Shanks with 2 and Dhanda the other.

Ta both.

We both had a free weekend due to the league cup fixtures.

We should be absolutely smashing them. Every single player that started for us yesterday would walk into their first 11.

They’re absolutely rancid.

Looking for a ticket as don’t have enough points. PM if you have one going spare. Cheers

Good chance this hibs team goes down imo, said it at the start of the season.

Getting  back to back league wins would really get us going with St Johnstone after at home.

Score first and beat them 2/3-0.

They've a preview thread over the road.

Their OP thinks Penrice is a weak link

Meanwhile another poster was going to take his son to his first derby game but the wee boy doesn't want to go.

From hibs.net

"I can't believe I'm saying this but i don't even think I'm going to watch the Derby . Absolute certainty to get pumped stupid"

I think we have them worried 🤣😂

As with any derby, I just want us to win and don't really care how we go about it.

It's Killie at home after the derby.

These guys know. Looking forward to seeing Penrice and Spittal up against them.

I remember one of my dad's mates after a derby in the 80s, asking a young Hibs laddie in the street if he'd ever seen them beat Hearts. Ended up with tears and snotters everywhere. This wee guy knows already and he's not even been to a derby yet.

They are garbage the hobos on hibs net are dreading this.

We are on the up confident 3 points for me

Beni Boateng will run the middle of park.

I hope the team doesn't just look on it as a stick on pumping the way some on here seem to be.

We are way better btw but it is a Derby and sometimes they take a curious turn. So no complacency. We'll have to earn any victory.

Sounds like its another very soft hibs team mentally, with a rookie manager who doesn't have a clue - not a great recipe for a derby.

Reckon this is the game Shankland gets his season started.

We created good chances v Aberdeen, and like Aberdeen hibs will attack and be a bit more open.

If we can just cut put the brain farts, we will create, score and ultimately start moving uo the table.

If we score first,  we can really do them and control the game.

Beni/ Boateng is a good combination, Spittal is effective and a goal threat, Shanks, although not scoring is linking the play well and Vargas/ Dhanda are a threat.

We also have a string bench.

I hope Oyegoke is fit tho, Forrester tries but he's a bit off the standard atm.

The tempo in our passing on Saturday should have them pulled all over the place.

So……….. 0-0 😂

I think Hibs will make it a very scrappy game. One thing David Gray can't have is a derby defeat at home especially under the current pressure he is under. I suspect Hibs will play a low block, we will need to be patient and take our chances when we get them. That Hibs defence is horrendous again this season, there is goals there for us to score so hopefully they fall to the right players.

I nearly always have my tail wagging before a derby. It makes no material difference either way, so might as well embrace it!

I read recently that fear and excitement prompt the same physiological response. Whenever you feel those nerves, just tell yourself "yaaaaaassss here we go!" and the world is yours.

Psychology 101 over - those fkrs tried to take us out, we can never let up, ever.

On my way to my shit hole work, and im actually buzzing for this already.  Guess what my biggest fear is ? That our manager doesn't know....or hasn't been lectured as to how important a game this is for us jambos. I pray to god Lockie has been nipping his head as to why this is (and always has been) the most important game in our history when it comes around 🙏 4 zip for the JT'S.....CMON HEARTS 💕!!

Would absolutely love to see Dhanda get a goal on Sunday 🤌

Seen that

Wait till he sees the weakness ffs

I want to see the same starting 11 and formation as the one against St Mirren. To achieve that there may need to be some tweaks and mindful substitutions on Thursday.

Just hope we have everybody fit and raring to go. The Hibs game is always massive, but even more so this time, considering Rangers play Aberdeen next week. One or both will drop points.

A big performance on Thursday will set us up nicely.

Posted

Games are always tough after a Euro fixture, so that will defo impact our performance. I'm still confident we will get the win but I don't think it'll be easy.

Our performance at Pittodrie was very good. And that's after travelling from Azerbaijan.

The euro game on Thursday is at home.

The boys will be fine 😎

wonder it the super computer has picked up on the fact Hearts are 2/1 - hibs clear favourites - hmmm
