Can’t wait for this one. Not a better feeling than being in the away end celebrating beating that lot. Then the lovely walk back up Easter Road to the pub. Love watching their misery.
0-2 with Dhanda and Shanks scoring.

I hadn't realised we had only lost one of the last 13 derbies, number 14 coming up on Sunday

Has there been any news on Penrice since he went off on Saturday, really hoping he's fit, the lad has looked a great signing in the last few games?

Well I look a bit daft then, only caught bits of the game as I was out for the day and thought he'd gone off injured! Good news. 🤣🤣🤣

Only concern is if Critchley too soon in the door, does not "get" the Derby and thinks that a point is is a good result away from home.  Hope Lockie, Fox, Robbie, the Museum tour and the 1914 Memorial gets him understanding this fixture though.

Nah can't see that with the ones you mention, also Gordon,Kent,Benni and Shanks,Vargas are veterans of this game now.

Young Tait is Hearts daft and from a Hearts family, even the new guys Dhanda's Grandad will be letting him know how big a game it is.

Fox in there for games like this.

The whole club will be well up for it.

Yeah I understand all that but it is how Critchley sets the team up that matters and also in his head what he wants out of the game. Hope I am wrong and he goes for it.

Nailed on Robertson or Clancy would get Sunday's game. Goes to that clown Robertson with our favourite ref Beaton on VAR😲

Hibs vs Hearts

Referee: Don Robertson

Assistants: Frank Connor and David Roome

VAR: John Beaton and assistant David McGeachie

From Hearts standard......Gogsy has filled him in 😀

Critchley has been in the job just over a week since being unveiled at Tynecastle Park last Tuesday. His understanding of the club has been helped by kitman Gordon 'Gogsy' Paterson.

The Hearts head coach shared a car ride with him on Wednesday afternoon when he made his way from the Oriam to the stadium for the pre-match press conference. It also provided him a moment of reflection.

"He tells me everything," Critchley revealed. "He's the man I turn to. He's the encyclopaedic knowledge of Hearts. He gives me a guided tour of the football club and the history of the football club. Brilliant company.

"And when you pull up at the ground, you do have those moments when you think, 'Wow, this ain't bad'. So I'm looking forward to this week."

Gogsy, of course, has given him the lowdown on the derby.

Crithcley said: "Some words I can't use! But from the first day he makes me well aware of the importance of that game.

My sensible h1b5 chums, if that's not an oxymoron, eschew away matches due to their rank antics.

Anyhoo, apologies but time for a wee reprise of this as I simply cannae wait to see their 'tifo' on Sun.

The kit man has been in his ear all week about it apparently, so he’ll know. He’ll get it

He also spent a fair bit of his career at Liverpool so he’ll understand derbies.

What ? A meaningless kick about where they are aw pals before during and after ? It’s basically a friendly.

This is a proper derby

The wording is a genuine head-scratcher.

To be fair, on closer inspection it can be seen that the outline of the black bin-bags is supposed to represent the Edinburgh skyline.

I'm pretty sure that it hails from the season of their marketing campaign "This Is Our City", which simply puts icing on the cake for laughs & giggles.

Shanklands record equalling goal is a total peach. That 1-2, then off the thigh followed by a screamer kind of reminded me of our 1st goal v St M last week.

As for the auto-generated sub-titles? Well worth watching again for them alone as they are genuinely funny.

Your post got me wondering about the etymology of the term 'derby' seeing as my head is fu' o' random info only useful for TV quiz shows and this has somehow eluded me.

Plausible explanations here for those who may also have wondered:-

Only just seen 👆

Facetiousness set aside, and conspiracy theories notwithstanding, Hearts, seriously, are gonna have to play with skill and not give that combo any opportunity to either 'blink' or, to use a well worn trope, 'make a decision'.

We really need to play to our strengths and shine as the better team.

Thankfully, h1b5' clogger-in-chief and captain is suspended. But, they have numerous others who'll no doubt be looking for every opportunity to kill the game with poor tackles and niggling fouls.

Target their defence and, quite frankly awful 'keeper, as per v St M with runners into the box etc. and it could end up a glorious 0-8.

The thing for me is that they totally got it wrong. Simply transpose 'dare and 'not', and drop the 'to', and swap 'that' for 'who' and it would then at least make sense:-

"Where is the player who would dare not fight for Hibernian?"

See what I mean?

They Hibsed their own tifo! 🤭

We can now turn to this. They will be shiting themselves but will try to make it a scrap. Get an early goal and it could be a rout.

We rested key players tonight and those that started instead looked solid.

Sunday should go one way. Make sure it happens Hearts.

Indeed there will be thuggery on the pitch, but if we play like the last two games, that should not be a problem....as we got CRITCHLEY 😁

Here's my customary derby warning against complacency and over confidence.  We are miles better but we still have to go out, work for it, prove it.  With the right mentality we'll be fine.

Posted

Going to miss a bit of this game but I’m looking forward to tuning in and seeing us giving them a pasting. Play like we played St Midden and OMO they won’t know what hit them.
The Vermin will need a Hit after we’ve gubbed them.

Not being over confident but what I’ve seen in the last two games from us has given me confidence that we’ll be to much for them.
They are not in a good place. 🥹

Posted

The bad news for the vermin is that our new way of playing is tailor made for derby games. None of this taking the sting out the game nonsense. Get after them.

All of a sudden we’ve got goals back in us. Shanks and Dhanda got off the mark. Then Kent and Spittal (3 in 3). Vargas, Oyegoke and Wilson. You can now add Forrest. Lifts everyone’s confidence.
Proper battles for jerseys too.
Not to mention back to back clean sheets.

They must be absolutely sick the derby wasn't 6 weeks ago (which they'd probably still lose).

They'll be rooted by Sunday tea time.

Why are Hearts 21/10 with Bet365?seems a big price to me

Can just tell the players and management will be absolutely buzzing to go for this

Sadly not got a ticket , but cannot wait to watch this

We are going to beat these smelly reprobates. The confidence is starting to flow through our team. They are Tam Kite, Colin Nish, useless, crap, feeble, trash.

Bring them on.

What’s going to be the team? Same v St Mirren? Was Beni just rested tonight or does he have an issue?

Gordon

Oyegoke

Kent

Rowles

Penrice

Boateng

Spittal

Shanks

The above all seem nailed on. Leaves 3 places. 1 CM and 2 forwards. Beni if fit. Does Spittal start where he did tonight? Different combinations available now. Spittal beside Shanks after that performance for me. Leaves Vargas, Dhanda and Forrest fighting for the wide positions.

Beni

Devlin

Dhanda

Forrest

Vargas

Could see hibs play a back 5. To cope with our two up and try have extra body in midfield. Our high and overlapping fullbacks could and should get 2v1 out wide though and hopefully start pulling their centre halves wide. Either that or they match us up. We smash them if they do that. We’ve simply better players. Their set up could dictate the combination of our front 4.

Depth of cover off the bench in

Kingsley

Forrester

Halkett

Grant

Mckay
Clark

Leaves space for one other. Wilson you’d think over Tait.
