Many clubs have had other Ltd company's take over the footballing assets like stadiums naming rights, association memberships and players. I think this is why many in the legal sections don't agree about a new club. The club consists of the above - stadium, naming rights, associations memberships and players. A Ltd company can come along and buy the rights to the above and continue as normal. Whether the holding company is liquidated doesn't really matter as the club remains intact just as there would still be a club if no body was willing to buy the footballing rights the club would continue in a lower league semi pro leagues as the same name etc it has always had. Changing of company's who own the clubs doesn't constitue a new club. Just like us with Bidco purchasing our footballing rights for so many pence in the pound. Sevco just bought the footballing rights without paying anything back to anyone that was in debt but they still bought the footballing rights same as we did.
