Rangers fans that can't accept their club died

I was in Shandwicks of all places watching the game.

Celebrated like **** when we scored and won.

Draw came about.... Aberdeen 1st

I was shouting on hearts.

Gave the boos.

Saying to my acquaintance sevco again.

Guy on the next table said its Glasgow Rangers.

I had to educate the delinquent on etiquette, Edinburgh and Scottish football.

Heart of Midlothian were bought out of administration.

Rangers were liquidated due to the tax fraud associated with EBT (employment benefit trusts) the 'wee tax' case that was the final nail in the coffin of the most successful club in association football.

Now just a zombie club with zoomed who think not being liquidated matters.

SFA membership revoked.

Application to Europe being rejected and banned for 3 years for forming a new Co relevant.

As far as I'm aware

Rangers still don't own some of the heirtage pertaining to its former history.

The club is 12 years old and has won limited silverware in its history.

Some would say a successful club.

All would say zombie club.

Rangers died and hearts survived

Their supporters try to deny it but, if its the same club, why did they have to apply to get into the league and change their name?

What was that company that was asked to look into the vote scandal surrounding covid and whether to end the league?

The one that had ties to celtic

Yeah, them; same company where the decision was made to send rangers down

Rangers weren’t sent down. They were fast tracked into the league setup.

They should have started alongside Gretna 2008.

I play golf with a guy who says they bought the history.

I asked him if buying a Victoria cross medal would make me a war hero as I also bought the history. He’s never been able to answer.

Why has the way they brought the club back from its death not been copied by other clubs in trouble.

Does nobody else have the brass neck to even try it.

Just say it's the same club, trophies and history are all ours and nothing has changed.

Sevco were lucky, should have started in the West of Scotland league

They think if they shout it long enough and loud enough, then everyone will accept that they’re still the same club. They are what they are, loud , braying donkeys with a used blue blanket thrown over them.

C'mon. It's fascinating and original stuff. Loads of grown men get a chance to call them Sevco, and tell us that they died. What's not to like?

The Rangers fans know deep down it’s true. If you bring it up to them it’s met with unbelievable defence, you can almost hear the pain in their voices

Have the Hibernians not done the same thing? Another first for the innovators.

My understanding is that they weren’t sent down to League 2 they were expelled from the leagues and had to have the rules bent (3 years of audited accounts?) to get back in.  One of the official bodies wanted them put straight back into the top league - but we were the first to vote against that and their great ‘enemies’ Celtic waited until last to also - eventually - vote against.  Everyone voted against except Killie, who abstained.

I also remember we absolutely scooshed them in the Championship (they were never above us, yet the Weegia were all ‘how close can Hearts stay to Rangers’ ‘can Hearts keep this up’ ‘Hearts will falter over the winter’.)

Rangers didn’t even finish second and then got thrashed 6-1 (agg) in the play-offs.

Semantics though; one minute they were still here, next in the 4th tier

Most of their 'fans' just stay silent when this is mentioned, acting like it wasn't said

I think the point people are making (and have always made) is that it should have been lower than 4th tier. Semantics is not the issue.

It does not help when the BBC on the draw last night speak of them winning the cupo 44 times or something like that.

I'm enormously aware of that, the semantics is in the part where they were dealt with the way they were; it's done, the line is drawn and it was never something under my control

Was there not a Tory MSP a couple of years ago wanted their 55 titles recognised and congratulated. Even Paul Daniels couldn’t magic 55 titles for a 10 year old club. The Motherwell hallowe’en zombie banner was one of the best. Let them never forget they died and the Rangers International fc is a new and different club.

From what I gather, they can still buy the History, for £100M or so; not worth that much to them is it

Still sung regularly by most sets of fans when playing them😁 It got a good few blasts in George Square before the 2022 Cup Final.

Just as much a farce as FFFHibs having 1875 on their shirts and celebrating 150 years next year.

Seriously who cares?

Why the constant enjoyment at someone else's demise.

Thankfully we managed despite administration to get back to where we belong.

And to be fair so have they, I don't care if they are Rangers or the Rangers it's petty and pointless.

I just care about Hearts.

Joined in singing it when Robbie was getting flung in the air etc, only one in my area (T) singing it and I got dirty looks from some around me. Never missed the Wheatfield more, than in that moment.

It's the stuff football rivalries are made of though, especially as they don't like hearing it. 😄

It was an outstanding achievement, a 10 year old club reaching a European final. I don't think anybody could deny that.

The reality is that the SFA, UEFA and FIFa see them as the same club, whether folk like it or not.

Given their fan base, I’m surprised they weren’t able to prevent their team being liquidated.
