At this point, yes. It just puts additional pressure on us if we were to be playing a non OF side, in the final, given the Europe incentive. On the flip side, maybe it would give us a better chance of winning the cup. Got to solely focus on the Morton game first of all, and before anything else.

Aw don’t get me wrong…. If I could pick a team to scud in the final it would be the huns. Everyday of the week.

Not for me. Our record against Rangers is shit. Even if it means Hibs progressing I'd take our chances of winning it and qualifying for Europe that way.

Hibs in the cup final with the cup and European group football on the line.

We mash them again at Hampden or they get ultimate revenge for the 5-1.

Wait are we due 3 home games after the split this year or 2?

Home -Rangers and St Mirren

Away- Celtic and Kilmarnock

So it's either Dundee at home or Hibs away as things stand

Who cares about the meaningless league match. We're beating them at Hampden this season.

As we are the team most likely to have nothing at stake in our post split games it's highly likely that we would be the team shafted (again) if the fixtures didn't allow for the right balance of home and away games

Honestly stick out the fringe players and rest some boys. We will have the Scottish cup final the week after.

Nah absolutely no way that should happen again, I would expect the club to put something out if we get shafted again

No. Want to avoid anyone slipping under the net and getting the 3rd place euro spot. Would rather we get one of the cheeks in the final.

Don't be a shitebag.

We would murder them in a final!

I would want the easiest team in the final and at the moment that's Aberdeen.

Congratulations to Hibs for becoming a top 6 club. A few more draws and they could cement 5th place for the second season in a row. Consistency.

The very fact you could even suggest such a thing could occur is bewildering.

If we are blessed enough to get Hibs in the cup final again, it's as good as won.

It is dumb.

A so called top football league where not all the teams play the same number of home or away games.

Where teams lose gate money because they don’t play the top traveling fan teams twice but others play them 3 times.

It’s a disgrace it still goes on.

Run by a bunch of third rate cowboys.

I hate it.

Dont fancy the idea of playing Russian Roulette and if we can avoid it.

I would be confident of beating them as well, but one bad game from us, they sneak in through the back door.

Why risk it ? Being a one off game is the main issue and certainly nothing to do with shiting it!

They will be going all out to win the cup as their season literally hinges on it

Would also fancy our chances against either of the OF, but if we dont win, we still achieve our main objective, and the likes of the sheep, are left as an afterthought.

Although giving fringe players more game time after the split might be seen to be a good idea, I would hope we keep changes to a minimum from week to week. Our season finishes at the cup final (hopefully) and we need to keep our run going, keep the momentum and  keep a relatively settled side.

I'd be quite happy with that as being "shafted" in this case would mean being made to play a third home game after the split when we should only have two home games!

No, as I said before it will be the lowest team that gets shafted if the fixtures don't balance out.  As we'll be 3rd, then we'll be fine.  Also as someone else pointed out, we're only due 2 home games after the split, so can't lose out.  It's possible we could gain an extra home game.

They'll give us the old firm back to back at the start just in case we throw a spanner in the works but also hoping they beat us to make our quest for 3rd a wee bit harder.

If we go into the split having cemented 3rd place (or in general finish 3rd), are we guaranteed European group stage football?

Only if we win the cup or one of the gruesomes wins the cup.

Thanks! So the ideal scenario is we have 3rd place cemented pre-split, get to the final and play either Celtic or Rangers and pump them. Even if we lose, we'll still be playing European group stage football next season.

If we were going toe to toe against the old firm to win the league could they manipulate this so we ended up playing both away from home for a 3rd time?

Only in Scotland is there a system that is open to human manipulation that can determine the final league standings!!

No.  We’ve already played Celtic twice at home so that’s impossible.  We could, in theory, play them 3 times at home but not a chance Celtic or the SPFL will allow that.

Likewise we could go to Ibrox 3 times but as that would be perceived as Celtic getting shafted rather than Hearts getting shafted there is also no chance of that.

This absolute loser mentality, I would rather get them in the final and beat them.

Get that so far to feck man.

We should be buzzing to play them anytime, the pressure is on them.

They are fighting for a league.

The fact we haven't beaten them once this season pisses me right off, because if you match them like we did Celtic and don't give them an inch,we beat them it's that simple.

If we get Rangers at home,I want it packed the most volatile Tynecastle I've ever seen, that's how you change the mentality.

It's then up to the boys and the management to deliver.

The fear some have for them genuinely makes me sick.
