Job done! We did really well against a potentially tricky opponent on a plastic pitch, on to Morton!

Totally agree.

His "football brain" and his confidence in his own ability remind me of Hickey.

Maybe our best home grown midfielder since Gary Mackay.

Class of 75

Well done Hearts. I thought Hoff was really good today and is becoming an influential player. Very composed on the ball.

Hope Halks is alright. It's Kent and Kye for me or Kent and Kingsley. Halkett is back up but still hope he's alright.

Job done and done in some style.

Fair play to Airdrie. A really good footballing side. They work hard and play the game the right way. They made it a good game to watch even if it lacked as an actual contest.

Wish them all the best for the rest of the season.

By the way, are we still talking about how we only start playing at half time?

They play plenty tidy footy on a nice surface. Need to find themselves a striker as others have said. Thankfully complete opposite of the scary 90's side.

Dexter knows he was brought in to cover an Aussie internationalist. He's done well but RB is Natty's to lose.

I thought they were very good at playing it out from the back. The problem was the lack of quality they had further forward - which isn't really a surprise given the opposition :)

They kept at it with their style of play though. Think Rhys McCabe might be one to watch, only 31 but seems to have managed to drilled that Airdrie team into playing the way he wants. Sounds like a very good young coach/ manager.

Shanks better on the mic than every pundit the BBC have got.

Thats his future after football sorted.

Well said.

They play football the right way. Impressed with their facilities as well.

Armageddon

Live on the BBC because they thought it was banana skin material, totally professional performance.

Naismith, get that contract extended.

Good win, Hoff m.o.m. for me, Forrest & Shanks best of the rest, though not a bad performer in a maroon Jersey bar Tagawa. HHGH

I was just thinking he’s a lot more relaxed and confident on the TV than he used to be.

They are desperate for him to go to Glasgow.

Hope it never happens.

Wonder what Naisy was saying to their number 4 Mccabe at the end?

Not sure but they know each other from their time at Rangers. Naisy spoke well of him in pre match interviews.

That pitch actually looked of good quality as synthetic surfaces go. Would take that over the tattie field we will face next round

Loving Naismith’s interview here. He’s got such a great winners mentality.

Good win.  Good to see the Hoff continuing to progress, and Tait and Fraser looking like they can add urgency into our midfield. Bad game for dexter, but he deserves the benefit of the doubt at the moment. Tagawa was almost as poor as Lembikisa, but doesn't have the backdrop of several good performances to his credit. Shanks is just outstanding.

I loved his description of his 2nd goal when asked if he knew he was going to dink it:

"Aye, I knew, the closer I got, I wizz goanie pit it ayr 'im."

Airdrie are not a bad side as we saw but well done to the boys the stuck to their task and won with some easy. Never easy against the under teams they always play a good game. Same again at Cappielow now is a must Morton are playing well too so we will be tested again away from home.

Forrest and Hoff are growing in confidence.

Grant has been better and Fraser showing there is a player in there.

Pretty professional performance today and a good win against a confident hard working organised side.

That's their Manager, so probably complimenting him on his teams style of play.
