Egypt v Ghana tonight could be a decent game. Egypt could be in trouble if they lose after the draw with Mozambique and Cape Verde apparently being not too bad.

I believe 4 of the 6 third place finishers progress but it could make their knock out path a lot more difficult

Mo Salah forced off with a hamstring pull. Sphincters tightening all over Merseyside.

He looked quite upset. Not the smug look he's used to having on his face.

He was probably traumatised by the ref shouting at him earlier on. He’s not used to officials clamping him.

Keeper comes rushing out, stands directly behind a defender then looks accusingly at the defender for being in his way as the ball flies past him into the net 😂

Off topic the Madrid derby Copa del Rey on half time 1-1 with potential to turn nasty - good game

David Moyes praying on Ghana getting pumped out at group stage. He's got a new contract riding on it.

The BBC live reporting headline was something like "Egypt equalise despite Salah injury" implying that Egypt can't do anything without Salah

The red should have booked him for his reaction

I love the AFCON for the sheer exuberance and athleticism of the players. Just watching the BBC highlights rather than full matches. It's a great spectacle and the fans are immense!

Think it was the Nigerian women, yesterday, nothing on except body paint. Bristol Cities bouncing about everywhere.

Just seen it in BBC sports. Absolute amateur hour goalkeeping. 🤣🤣

It ended up about 2 feet from where he was standing 😂

It's daft sh1t like that, that make most of Europe think the AFCON is utter pony. I used to quite enjoy watching it years ago, had potential to unearth a couple of real gem players, but the defending and goalkeeping (most of the time) left alot to be desired. Glad to see things haven't changed.

Tried watching some of this dross. Morocco v Congo, 10 minutes then it went off. More than I'd give that other pish with Australia in it.

The one thing that really stands out is the complete lack of diversity..., assume this will be looked into by the relevant authorities...

Equatorial Guinea pumping Ivory Coast 3-0.

Nigeria 1-0.   They had a goal ruled offside which I'm not clear on.   He didn't receive the ball but was offside in the middle.   Was onside when the cross came in.

Ivory coast getting humped at home. This equitorial gunea ripping the pish. Screamer of a 2nd scored too.

Cote d'Ivoire only themselves to blame. Still playing Pepe after he's been atrocious for last 4 years and missing so many chances.

Don't expect the crowd will take this well.

A lot of top quality players kicking about but the team play is seriously lacking.

I get the feeling some players would rather get an early exit.

Might be a market worth exploring. Could maybe start by bringing one over as an initial test.

Great equaliser for Mozambique.   Great header into the corner.

Egypt snatch a dramatic late 1-2 that went to var.

Wonder who Chris Hughton will blame for his disastrous reign in charge of Ghana? The man simply isn't good enough but he has a problem accepting that.

Gambia v Cameroon is classic. Goals all over the place at end of match and Gambian equaliser rightly chopped off after Gambian guy punched it in. Guy could almost have headed it but decided to go with hand. Player had cheek to argue against decision and shake his head when effort ruled out.

Still 3-2 for Cameroon.

Hosts on the cliff edge

And just to make sure they've sacked their manager today so if they squeeze through by being 3rd they won't have a manager for the next round. Bonkers.

Egyptian player Emam Ashour is out of their last 16 tie with concussion...sustained and I'm not making this up, trying to do a back flip in training.

AFCON is just incredible.

Guessing that's a first to sack manager during a tournament.

They'll win the whole thing if he manages them.
