Teaser for the track sounds so like a Roses song but before Leckie produced for them.Like the demo tracks that were released on the Silverstone compilation Garage Flowers really.

Had a listen to full song it's definitely the Roses without Leckie producing and without Reni's drums.Replace Liam with Brown and I'm not really sure it works at all.No doubt some will absolutely love it but not for me I hope the rest of the album is better

Sounds like a second-rate Roses rip-off. Bit like Shed Seven or something.

The lyrics are dreadful as well I think Squire must have let his kid write it with his crayons.

I like it.

Its not What the World was waiting for and its not Electronic but something in between.

I feel if I was adding it to a playlist the playlist would consist of “just another Rainbow” by Liam Gallagher and John Squire and “It’s a beautiful thing” by The Stone Roses and that’s it.

I saw Embrace the Suck have reviewed it on their YouTube channel;

Walking slowly down the hall faster than a cannonball.

After all your my Wonderwall.

I don’t think lyrics held Oasis back and the chorus is quite catchy.

I like Squires guitar solo

I'm really hoping the album is good I'm just not that keen on this single.

I’ve just had a listen to it and it sounds exactly like I expected it to. And I don’t mean that as a compliment.

It reminded me of that Fast Show scetch, the one with the generic manc indie band.

Or some clever teenager on their computer with AI. “Make me a song that sounds like the Stone Roses and Oasis pretending they’re the Rolling Stones flower power era”

I think the Gallagher & Squire song is alright, nothing special.

”Just Another Rainbow” though… 😬 Sounds like the working title of Alan Partridge’s second autobiography.

I like the start of it but it just meandered nowhere and ultimately a bit boring.

Nice nod to the Beatles Rain in the title though

Yip.
Rain came into my head right away.

No surprise there of course.
Bit crap, also no surprise.

I would agree re: meandering.  Great word for it.

I still enjoy John Squire's guitar work, but this song is missing a bit of soul.  It feels a bit forced and pastiche.

On a different note, I just listened today to Blur's 'Barbaric' for the first time (must have been released last year) and I think it is relevant and not at all pastiche.

I love John Squire, as boring as he is.

That Rainbows song isn't doing it for me though.

Yeah, read that Liam confirmed this. Maybe pad it out with some Seahorses.

I went to see Ian Brown and he didn’t play any Stone Roses and it was actually pretty cool.

The Complete Stone Roses are playing the set from The Stone Roses legendary gig in Blackpool which would be pretty good.

I remember that, Ian Brown not playing Stone Roses for a good while. His solo albums were very good I thought, some great songs. Shame he’s lost the plot now.

I was fortunate enough to be there when he first started playing Roses songs again, at Glastonbury in 2005. One of my favourite moments being at a gig. Just electric when the intro to ‘I Wanna Be Adored’ started.

Seen Brown in the Picture House in Edinburgh was actually one of the best gigs I have been to better than when I seen the Roses on Glasgow Green ( great for nostalgia though )

I loved that performance especially after being at the final Stone Roses tour when it looked like he was finished and I had written him off.

Probably in the minority but so far I just think Browns voice suits Squires sound more.
