Sad to hear that the Edinburgh born actress has died, aged 83.

One of my earliest childhood memories is watching "Whatever Happened to the Likely Lads" as a wee boy in the early 1970's with my mum and dad.

I've watched repeats since and still love it.

Thelma was the perfect third leg in Terry and Bob's relationship. 😄

Was the perfect foil for Rodney Bewe's Bob, and perfect nemesis for James Bolam's Terry.

RIP Brigit.

As folk have said, she played the roles in Open All Hours and Likely Lads brilliantly.    I have a vague memory of seeing her in a play (maybe at the Lyceum)  just around the time she got her  TV break as Thelma.

RIP .

What ever happened was and still is watchable .even the movie was good .

She was perfect in that role as the third wheel in bob and terrys relationship .

I don’t realise this and then read a post on Facebook last night from someone I know saying he’d written a solo cello piece for her to perform in a show.

Irate the Likely Lads (and whatever happened to) as one of the greatest ever Britsh series of any type. Comedy pathos and social commentary wrapped into one and brilliantly acted by all three.

No messing with Thelma.

Great theme tune too - here is the little heard full version - it was written by Mike Hugg (of Manfred mann) who also wrote the great Up the Junction theme
