Naismith said today the scan is "good", nothing long term. He also said the plan is to build up his minutes on pitch and training ground this season so he is back to best next season after a full pre season.

Good news . We have Rowles back now and the ever versatile Kingsley so we should be fine giving him bits here and there

The Treasurer

Halkett was always going to pick up a few niggles and strains after being out for so long.

The key is to build up gradually and hopefully get him back to full fitness as he is an outstanding defender when 100% fit

Maybe a sign of better management of injuries too.

Sound approach IMO. I don't think we can expect him at 100% before next season but just having minutes on the pitch will be invaluable for getting him back up to speed.

Halkett, Rowles, Kent, and Kingsley is a selection headache of the best sort.

More quality and depth in squad. No need to rush him back.

Very much so. I hope the club are looking to do something with Kingsley re extending. Another year after this season but so vitally important to us. Been absolutely terrific since he arrived.

Good 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Rowles back means he can take is easy and build back up. Happy for him to take the time he needs because he's a genuinely really important player on form.

100%

The new Michael Smith. A top pro.

Kingsley should be a serious contender for Germany in the summer if something was to happen with Robertson or Tierney. A better player than Taylor imo.

Agreed. A key requirement for backup players is versatility and he offers that with the ability to cover at both LB and CB (and I guess RB in a pinch).

Aye but he doesn't play for the OF

Thankfully not. Far better player than Greg Taylor though.

Remains one of the best players in our squad.

This in spades. Have had this conversation with some mates (who are of other teams persuasions) and they all agree. He has lots of experience in the system Clarke utilises for Scotland and can easily slip into either the Tierney or Robertson role (May be wrong but is Tierney injured again at the moment?)

He was playing the other night. I think he’s played a decent amount of games since moving out to Spain.

I think Arsenal were mad to loan him out, certainly a better defender than Zinchenko.

I think we should play Kingsley even for set pieces alone. Better free kick than anybody in that squad and those opportunities could be important.

Agree with this - don’t think it can be underestimated how bad we have been with this since Levein and Neilson days

On the Tierney injured issue. Celtic mate told me he is injury prone due to Celtic knackering him in his days at Celtic by playing him but pumped up on medication. Bit like MGraw in the 60s at Morton who ended up on crutches due to too many Cortezone injections to play through pain barrier. Tierney in his love of Celtic has maybe let them shorten his career.
