Rowles is being dismissed far too easily. The club have made a huge commitment to him with a 5 year contract and he’s not just going to be emptied out the side. Halkett has huge questions over his overall fitness and whether he can get fit and stay fit. Time will tell whether he has the answers but I’m currently skeptical as to how much we can rely on him.

Rowles is also 3 years younger than Halkett and has played at a far higher level already ..

We won’t Go through the season with 2 CB’s. Plenty or room for rotation and there will be injuries without doubt. The best pairing will also depend on the opposition

So to summarise, we're rich as **** at the back and all of them better play out of their skins to retain a place. Bloomin' marvellous.

That paired with tasty MF and forward options means we're in the best depth-shape for a long time. Dropping depth charges like an OG frigate.

Sure there will be movement out, but still in too.

I will let the managemen/coaching team worry/deal with these things.

The Wrinkly Ninja

It’s a great position to be in and such a difference to last year (due to injuries).

Left back is a shame. If both are at their best then Kingsley is ahead of cochrane for me but Cochrane has carried better for overall so should be first pick. Can’t ignore the two sending offs.

Cochrane to start on Thursday keeps them both ticking over with Kingsley back in for Killie. We might see them rotate from there. Could also see cochrane in front of Kingsley sometimes.

A fit on form Halkett is our best centre half. At the moment it would be Halkett and Kent and it’s for Rowles to make himself undroppable and for Sibbick to force himself in likewise.

The good thing is that we can ease Halkett back in. Might be a while before we see him start a game.

This is spot on re the LB position, although I’d add that Cochrane appears to have more leadership and drive to make things happen in games, which really gets the crowd going too.

Yes completely agree. Cochrane was an absolute warrior at the start of last season and his style of play definitely appeals more to most fans.
