Okay, if Hearts are playing away from home, and people have an idle Saturday afternoon in the capital, which other local team is it permissible for proper Jambos to go watch?*

* Excludes Hubs, of course.

It’s always been Edinburgh city as my old boy played for them when I was growing up. I also played for them a bit through boys club. As they grow closer to Hibs though I’m swaying away from them.

Out of choice I tend to find myself watching EoS football when I’m not working at other games.

What's the Edinburgh city-Hobos link? Genuinely never heard anything about it before. I know there's some ex hobos in the team but I thought there were ex Hearts as well?

5-1 I think

😁Good one 👍

I meant I've heard Hibs have some kind of tie up with them.

Anything official ?

Thought JJ was their DOF ?

I don’t think there is a link

Follow a lot of the EoS and LL football so happy to take any game in if we're not playing. Been to watch City a few times and developed an affinity with Musselburgh Athletic when I stayed down there. No strong feelings for any club though really. Just enjoy a game of football and happy to chuck a few quid to these clubs.

Official yes but then they have had official link ups with other clubs before and **** all came of it

They have an official link with FC Edinburgh for youth development at the moment apparently

Haven't been to see them as often while they've been playing at Pilton but Edinburgh City (apparently they are announcing a name change this evening) for me. Will likely go a bit more frequently when they're back at Meadowbank.

Not aware of any actual Hibs connection, they've had plenty ex-players from both us and Hibs but that's about it?

Keep meaning to go to some Musselburgh Athletic games too since they're just down the road but never quite got around to it yet.

Previously lived in Falkirk and watched East Stirling a mile from my house.

Lived in Inverkeithing and watched Hill o' Beath.

Now live in Manchester and City is my team.

Back in the day always went to reserve games at Tynecastle.

Remember seeing Ernie Winchester play for reserves.

No idea where this Edinburgh City/Hibs link has come from as I literally can't see a thing about it other than them loaning players (they also have Cammy Logan from ourselves on loan so this seems very moot). They have/previously had a link with Spartans Academy (separate entity to Spartans FC) but I cant find anything confirming a link with City?

When I lived in Edinburgh, I'd often go to watch the reserves. (In those days, my only chance of ever getting to sit down at a game). Now, I try to coincide my visits with Hearts home games.  Otherwise, I go to see Hallam FC (about 20 minutes walk from home).

Capital? Well, Sheffield is the capital of South Yorkshire. 😉

It came from some one on here telling us it was in the pipe line a couple of months ago plus the evening news article detailing the months of work going on in the back ground to create the link

Have You Heard

Anywhere Hearts are playing I’ll be there but International breaks and any Saturdays we’re not playing are spent watching Bonnyrigg Rose.

Should hopefully get to quite a few Rose games this season with us being in Europe and playing Sundays.

Growing up it would have been Arniston Rangers, nowadays simply due to proximity it'd be Kelty - might be a common theme with team colours going on

Bazzas right boot

I just turn my half n half top inside out to the green side and go and watch hibs.

Not Edinburgh, but I've watched Mussleburgh Ath a few times.

Watched them play a Hearts oldie team as well.

A family member played/ plays for them. One of their all time best.

Footballfirst

Hearts U11s-U16s on Sat/Sun mornings

Hearts U18s on Friday evenings

Other than that mainly Bonnyrigg, then Penicuik, Tranent and Edinburgh Utd, although I have also been to numerous other lower pyramid games from Dundee to Dumfries during last season.

Never ‘followed’ a other team, but a former boss used to play for Spartans, so had a mild interest in them for a while.

Dunno, never checked the table.

Local for me, only seen them 4 or 5 times.
