What I don’t understand is this.

Obviously we don’t want to sell Beni. But. If Aberdeen can get £4.5m up front for Ramsey plays add one close to £8m why can’t we get at least the same if not more for Beni (when he is fit)?

Apples & pears...

Permanent would be utterly stauner inducing.

Simms on loan is decent.

Simms on permanent was preferable but a long shot.

Hard to be disappointed.

That post read to me as pointon correcting a mistake in his previous post. But I'm open to that being me clutching at straws.

Didn't the both join from League One? Albeit both clubs moving in different directions in their final seasons at Luton and Peterborough respectively.

Luton were league two

you correcting yourself or confirming ?  😅

Was wondering that, was thinking that was a really quick answer to his inquiries.

Wont hold my breath though, I am sure the poster has done this before, said big rumours that dont happen. But I would be delighted to be proved wrong.

I’d be very surprised if Everton had made a decision on Simms already.

I'm not saying it's how it went down, but there's every chance we've been pushing to bring him back and Everton have decided we're as good a place as any. Who knows.

I'll refer you to my earlier reply, which still stands but with added whelms this time. Yes please! 😁

This, to beat the old firm we need to constantly consolidate 3rd place finishes and gain European football. And also sell players we gain for big bucks.

They could both have champions league group stages this year so that blows any euro money we make out the water. To really compete we’d need to somehow split them and get in to the champions league places and somehow make the group stages.

Wonder if we'll look at some more EPL fringe players for loans.

Will throw a random name out there, David Omilabu at Crystal Palace. Can play anywhere across the front 3. Decent scoring record at youth level and good on the ball.

Our head of recruitment is based in London. Guessing that’s where his expertise will be, hopefully a couple of fringe players from EPL club coming in on loan like the player you mentioned. I’ve no doubt Neilson has his say in who comes and goes but think the recruitment carry a lot more clout

Now that contradicts your earlier post, saying permanent or loan still to be decided. Which is it?

Hearts are interested in Fleetwood Town midfielder Paddy Lane, according to the Mirror.

The 21-year-old Northern Ireland star scored five goals in 39 appearances last season and went on to win the League One Young Player of the Year award.

West Ham have also sent scouts to watch the £1million rated Lane with Cardiff City cited to be keen admirers too.

Lane made his Northern Ireland debut in March against Hungary and also featured in their Nations League games against Cyprus and Greece earlier this month.

  • 1 million rated no chance

So Pointon is a slavver then? That's disappointing, if not unexpected.

Yep, seems so. Don't hold your breath on that one.

Twitter chat is tiny re Simms. Cardiff claimed him somewhere (from a Cardiff fan), random non-fan claims he's heading here on loan again.

Nothing obvious going down

Question mark won't be happy. Too many Irish at the club already, according to it.

Get him in...

I think he's English but qualifies for N Ireland

Daily Record were in early on the Grant rumours to be fair.

Extremely accurate in his delivery. You don't seriously think they were handing over 6 million for a highlights reel on Sportscene do you?

Daily Record are just reprinting the story that was from the Daily Mirror (to be fair to the record they acknowledge its from the Mirror.)

Doubt we would pay £1m, but sounds a good player.

When it comes to your goodself, I think I am not alone in saying that 99.9% of the time I have no idea what you mean.

You are very much not alone!  Although, to be fair, I'm not sure he has any idea what he means 99.9% of the time either!

I think with Lancefield's experience down south there'll be a lot of players he's seen in the past too. Our loans last season worked nicely to bulk out the squad and a positive is if we had a bad season next year and didn't need the bigger squad we don't have as many players tied in longer term so makes a lot of sense to have at least 1 or 2.

I doubt Scott Brown would have any say in it if the money was offered to Fleetwood, thankfully.

Lane would be an excellent signing but definitely outside of our budget for his transfer fee. No danger are we signing Simms permanently either.

I’m pretty confident we will sign a better quality player if we win the play-off

I can't how it makes a difference tbh.

we are guaranteed  group stage football, that is the important thing and the carrot for players and the finance for us.

I think Grant was our first choice and ronan was was back up option, but it was in doubt if we were getting grant.

It's really weird to pretend your ITK if you're not, like what do you get out of it. At least try and charge folk a £5 or something.

We don’t have a few weeks to waste. The signings will be fast I reckon. I don’t think anyone else will turn up in Spain but they will definitely be being worked on.

Grant said it had been 4/5 weeks since initial contact was made by us to his reps before he signed. Will be the case for others who aren’t in public eye yet.

I predict at least one of our signings this window won't arrive until after our Europa League playoff first leg, and quite possibly the second leg!
