Reminds me of another ex-PM from Oz, Julia Gillard who appeared on the BBC politics show in the run up to the GE who absolutely eviscerated the ‘rationale’ of Leavers and their case for Brexit. She said that any deal between the U.K. and OZ would be great for Oz but not for the U.K. Then explained why Brexit was such a bad idea. Never saw that interview appearing in the DM or Express sadly. I couldn’t say if the poster i quoted is a unionist or not but what I do know is Scotland as an independent country with borrowing powers could have easily had the exact same furlough scheme as Sunaks plan. He was widely praised for it but all he did was give people money which has to be paid back. He looked at other EU countries with similar schemes and essentially copied it. Hardly some sort of rocket science. Sunaks a very rich individual whose family has ties with the PPE companies who got given huge contracts.
