good spot, not sure , but had Brechin dont have a Mcfarlane listed on their squad on their website. Searching transfermarkt, the only Liam McFarlane is the one at Hearts. Not definitive but suggests it could well be him, but nothing on Brechins website or twitter.

I would imagine it is given the Andy Kirk / Levein link.

 

By all accounts, from the reports from those in attendance and posted on here, he’s been playing well for the U18s and so Highland League is the next step in his development.
