2049

Like the original blade runner one goes with the other.

Both films are beautiful together with the music.

Take 20-ish minutes out to listen to a bit of Morricone.  Four leading contenders, IMO, courtesy of the Danish National Symphony Orchestra and the Danish National Concert Choir.

A favourite occasional treat is watching a movie with the score performed live by the Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra…

I'm expecting to get ripped for my choice of 'Where Eagles Dare'.

That's pretty decent as is The Great Escape.

The trilogy Fistful of Dollars, A few dollars more, and The Good the bad and the ugly.

The James Bond theme

Jaws.

To name a few.

Ecstacy of Gold from The Good, The Bad & The Ugly is stunning but I think that might have been shared already. Morriconne was an amazing composer.

Howard Shore's OSTs for the Lord of the Rings is a staggering achievement:

Any John Williams score, really, particularly Star Wars.

Braveheart is really good as well.

The Pastels did a cool score for one my favourite films, The Last Great Wilderness.

Fantasia obviously one of the greatest.

Not a film but Ken Burns Vietnam score by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross is immense, it could be described as the sounds of warfare, eeriness of the Jungle and death. I think Atticus Ross has done a number of film scores, The Book of Eli, Social Network, Girl with the Dragon Tattoo to name but a few.

I like a bit of Bernard Hermann who scored a lot of Hitchcock’s films as well as Jason and the Argonauts and Taxi Driver. Hans Zimmer is an interesting composer currently. Blade Runner 2049 has already been mentioned. The soundtrack for Dune is growing on me.

Clint Mansell is another fantastic composer for films. This is a great example of a piece of music that stands on it's own feet even outwith the film.

Clint Mansell - Lux Aeterna (Requiem for a Dream) - YouTube

i like mansells dead reckoning and how it fitted almost perfectly the ending of smokin aces

Loved the Matrix @Cade

I didn't think about it at the time but they got a lot of their ideas from Max Payne.

Bullet time maybe, but that had also already been used a Smirnoff advert, so it wasn't new technology.

Thematically, The Matrix is far more like "Dark City". (Which is also worth watching for Jennifer Connelly looking superb)
