That is as poor a side from them as I've seen in quite a while: no swagger, silly mistakes a plenty, poor touches, lackadaisical passing and crossing along with players that just don't look like they can handle it. The ITV pundits will be Dutch Ruddering themselves into little "nothing to fear against them if we get them in the latter rounds" stuppers. Goretzka will make a difference and I think Kimmich is wasted at wing back but looking at their squad I can’t see much else, Klostermann isn’t an upgrade. What many here consider as a not very good German team, they are still formidable opponents for the vast majority of teams in this tournament. I don’t know how many times Gundogan took the safe option after a white shirt had timed a nice run behind their marker? Clearly in his eye line but never made the pass.
