Last but by no means least this is, in my opinion one of the most beautiful pieces of film ever made

Brilliant film. . Real change of character for Tom Hanks and a really creepy turn by Jude Law.  Some great lines in it too

. “ there are only murderers in this room Michael , open your eyes , this is the life we lead , the life we choose and the only one guarantee is none of us will see heaven “ !

I thought of this as well. I imported the Japanese dvd and it was in black and white. Tremendous stuff

Think there are 3 or 4 scenes from Kill Bill that could be added! Not to mention other QT movies...

The Blade nightclub scene was going to be my next submission.

Good taste.

One of the few movies I’ve watched more than once!

Lots of cut footage from the first Star Wars film used in this battle.

Lots of the x-wing y-wing pilots were cut from the Battle of Yavin at the end of A New Hope and got their moment of fame in this battle instead.
Trying to pick out the parts filmed in the late 1970s is good fun.

A nice touch in an excellent set piece.

First movie that popped in my mind first.   The lead up to this scene is also great.   First is short version.

This is the lead up to the former.

Absolutely mind boggling when you think of the process of stop motion animation.  A friend did a 10 minute claymation short and it took almost a year and still had jerky bits to it.

No words needed... Just Bob Hoskins facial expressions.

Director told him to just think his way through the script.

The play of emotions on his face is perfect.

I genuinely had man love for Paul Newman and he is fantastic in this as is Tom Hanks.

Everything about it is great IMO. The way it’s shot, music, casting. Love it

Yes he was a great actor . As you say the whole film is superb. Gear film about father / son relationships.  Newman’s  wife Joanne Woodward is still kicking about too .

A criminally forgotten film.

Oh thanks for reminding of this great film . A briiliant spoof of film noir films . Steve Martin is brilliant . He has been great in so many films . I love film noir films . When a guy usually falls for a good for nothing “ Dame “ a “ femme fatale “ and gets into bother due to it !’  Films like the classic “ The Maltese Falcon “  and any films with the legendary Gloria Graham ! “ Double indemnity “ is the pinnacle of this type of film I think , check the dialogue ! 😂
